Hi, I am mainly breastfeeding my 10 week old but supplement with normal powdered aptimil (with colief in it) for one bottle an evening since he was 4 weeks. He has been mainly fine on this - a bit constipated and windy but we seem to have helped this with baby massage. For the last two nights he has been extra colicky in the evening and sicked up really thick, powdery gunge which he has never done before. He had his first immunisations two days before this started and we switched from tommee tippee bottles to dr browns to see if this helped his wind at around the same time. I'm pretty sure we didnt accidentally mix the feed up too strong as it has happened on two nights now. Has anyone else had this type of sick/any ideas what causes it - bottle change/immunisations? thanks

My LO used to bring up bits of milk that were kind of curdled/separated sometimes. Is that similar to what you're getting? We found it was just about timing - the longer the milk had been in his tummy before he sicked it up, the more digested it was. You may also find that the colief makes this worse, as I'm sure that changes the make-up of the milk.

In addition to using Dr Browns bottles, we used to find that Dylan kept his formula down much better if we offered it quite warm.

I've never heard of immunisations causing changes in baby sick. I've only heard of things like lack of appetite, temperature and sleepiness.

Hi thanks for your reply, we had had curdled sick before but this was different - kind of gloopy/mucousy, all in a lump and when it dried on the muslin was hard and powdery. Very weird but he is doing it less now..hope it was just a one off thing. Thanks
