Think Tax credits have cocked up....

So I called them on the 27th January with childcare costs. £283 a week.

Got a letter through today, and I'm perplexed.

It has the childcare element from 27/12/2013 (have they picked the wrong date maybe??)

and says my weekly costs are £59.......I have NO idea where this figure has come from! I am now slightly bricking it as I will need to have this sorted for next month - usual payment will be about 12th Feb.

When I got my letter they had the childcare costs "wrong" but it's to do with the fact you pay childcare in advance they told me. So I rang up in January saying my childcare costs had reduced to £51 a week but the letter still said £84 when it came, but I rang them up and all was fine, I got another letter through this week with the right amount. Ring up to be sure but it's confusing the way they do it, it's probably right.

I rang up today. Seems that despite me giving the kids names etc they had it that only one child was in child care..........so the limit was the £175 not £300.......but still the £59 is confusing me. I think I will call tomorrow and get them to tell me what is on the system as that still doesn't make any sense........It did say on the letter they were going to overpay by £481 that they would then deduct from next year and to ring them asap if we didnt want that/the interim payment. But the guy today couldn't get me off the phone quick enough!! Kept saying, yes yes it has the correct amounts in.........didnt actually let me tell him what they were, and then I had to go so couldn't clarify
