Alright ladies, since we're pretty set on our boys name, I'm thinking of girls names.

DH's great grandmother's name was Ione and my grandma's name was Lucia. So we were thinking of Ione Lucia. What do you guys think? Is it too grown up/old of a name?

My mom looked at me funny when I said it so just curious.

I love the name Lucia - gorgeous!! I would def go with that! Or maybe Lucille or Lucy, in honor of Lucia?

I have no idea how to pronounce Ione!

I have heard it pronounced eye-oh-nee. Very pretty!

I like it, but prefer Lucy.
I don't think Lucia is too grown up sounding :flower:

Yup you're correct. But DH's great grandma pronounced it eye-ohn.

I like Lucia too so maybe we need another middle name.... Not sure what though.

Lucia is very pretty, elegant and classy. I think it would grow with the child very well too :(

Lucia Rose sounds lovely I think.
Is Ione Irish? Maybe an Irish middle?
Lucia Shannon
Lucia Aileen
Lucia Niamh (neev)
Lucia Shauna
Lucia Saoirse (sear-sha)

It's actually Greek and means Violet flower.

I'm still liking Lucia but even though it was grandma's it doesn't feel right :(
Boy names are so much easier for me.

Lucinda maybe? Or Lucie instead of Lucy?

I like Ione, but I said it Iona in my head.

Ione is nice but I also thought it was pronounced Iona when I first read it. Maybe Iona would be another option?

Lucia is so pretty! I'm just not sure on the 'chee' bit in Lucia like 'loo-chee-ah' I much prefer the softer sounding Lucy or Lucie. But if Lucia is in the family then it is lovely and I'm just splitting hairs really lol

How about Luciana? Just to individualise it a bit?

its lovely. how can it be too grown up ... the baby wont stay a child forever :)

We are doing Lucette (nickname Lucy) for a girl. We've never heard anyone with the name before but absolutely love it!
Middle name is still in debate but will be something like Annalyn.

Ione I've never heard of. I like Lucia too. Would it be Loo-sha?

No it would be loo-see-ah. That's how my grandmother's name was pronounced (she was hispanic).

I'm still debating on this name though. I want a little girl more, but have already picked a boys' name. Ay yi yi.
