Hiya
At the minute, I'm making Mairi 6oz bottles, but I'm lucky if she'll take 4oz at a time. She does get a lot of satisfaction from her bottle, but I'm thinking of gradually switching to a sippy cup to see if she'll take any moreas she drinks water from it well. I'm lucky if she takes 500ml during the day and the she takes about 250ml during the night over 2 feeds with bottles. I know the only way to find out is to suck it and see (pardon the pun), but I just wondered if anyone has made the switch and if it's been successful. Cheers all x

So, 250ml during the night and 500ml during the day - thats 25oz - plenty for 8 months I would say so I dont think there is any need for her to take more.

I am guessing she is on a couple meals a day too?

I dont know about the sippy cup - why not give it a go?:flower:

I'm not concerned with her intake so much as the fact that she's waking twice throughout the night and has done since she started weaning. We're using CTN bottles with a variflow teat and I don't know if she just needs the faster flow that a sippy cup would offer. The HV said I should either let her CIO or give her water during the night, but then I'm concerned about her milk intake. At the moment we're waiting till the cold passes, then I'm going to try it. Cheers xxx

Hi hun. There is a major growth spurt at 9 mnths & it's so developmental. Omar was waking up at night & all what he wants is milk. He's not a big drinker but for 2-3 wks (started at around 8.5 mnths) he started to wake up for bottles. He was suffering frm an ear & throat infection at that time, & milk was the only thing to sooth him. (he used to sleep through for 12 hrs since he was 12 wks old)

I found that giving him cereals mixed with a banana before bedtime 45-60 mins before his bedtime bottle helped with his sleep & he started to sleep better for the past wk now. He only takes 3 bottles which vary between 10-15 oz & 18 oz on good days

Now, when he wakes up, we offer him few sips of water & he goes back to sleep. xx

Oh, that's a good idea. It think I'll try that. Thanks (Congrats on Omar self fedding BTW) xxx
