I now have my appointment in. I'm hoping I get my BFP at the weekend so I don't have to have it.

What I'm worried about is- how to deal with it emotionally. e.g. how do I prepare for the outcome, what they may or may not find. That really scares me.

We ttc for 9 months without 1 bpf. I have since been on meds and this is my first month ttc again whilst on them. So it could have been just that I needed my hormones balancing as they weren't great.

Please please, any advice.

Hi,
I can't help much but I have an appointment in 2 weeks and I think lap and dye may be ordered, like you I have been concerned about how to deal with the whole thing. I have been ttc over 2 years and ntnp over 2.5 years, oh has great SA so I feel certain they will find something. I also have some endo symptoms, but I think I am reasoning it like if they find something they will fix it which would be great!! I am also about to see a naturopath for hormone/stress help, something I did briefly in the past but didn't stick to (wasn't desperate enough yet I guess lol) what meds are you on? We're they prescribed by fs or GP? I am seeing GP soon after going to a fs that I didn't care for, so I'm wondering if she can give me meds or will have to refer me out again?

Sorry just saw your meds list lol!
I hope you don't end up needing the lap, lots of luckxx

I had my lap and dye last july (2010) and found out i had 1 tube blocked.....
I was relieved to know what was going on with my body
power in knowledge I guess......

Take a few pain killers 30 mins before procedure and try to relax while going thro procedure..i had no pain during but felt very sore a few hours after.

So with only one working tube..I acrually got my BFP 7 cycles after .
I had an implant issue ( almost tubal).......BUT I did get pregnant with ony one workign tube......SO do not stress about what can happen...at least you'll know whats going on.

Best of luck..........

Thanks for the responses.

CHILbilly- I'm actually getting a general anaesthetic with it- so I'll be out cold!x

Hi,

I had a lap and dye in April and my results weren't great. I found out I had endo and my insides were mangled. It was hard to come to terms with but at least I now know what I'm dealing with, like someone said above knowledge is power. Having a reason for why it's not working has really helped me.

Chances are though they'll not find anything wrong with you. Physically it didn't take too long to recover from the op, just get your partner to do a lot of running around after you :haha:

Fingers crossed it all comes out okay for you.

H xx

I had a lap and dye in sep as we have been ttc for over 2 years now. I had an ectopic last year so was convinced they would find something wrong with my tubes. I was told that my tubes are abnormally large - not the news I was expecting at all! They weren't blocked and they couldn't bee sure if the reason we were having trouble conceiving is due to the large tubes. Now waiting to see a fertility specialist.
I actually found myself quite excited about the procedure (weird, I know!), I thought that they would find a blockage, flush it out and that would be the solution and the reason that it is taking so long to get pregnant again.
I was told the results only 30mins after waking from the general anaesthetic so be aware that you may not fully remember all the details. I was however given a copy of the GP letter to refer to which I found really useful (had to google all the medical terms though!)
Good luck xx

I had a lap and dye in June of this year and got a bfp in August-unfortunately it didnt stick but I do believe the opp does wonder to clear the route even if nothing is found-which was the case for me. Gl.x

I'm expecting endo to be found, just hoping its only a little bit.

emmjay I'm going to request they give me it in writing to take away with me. thanks

hi, i had a laparoscopy and dye 3 weeks ago. i had quite bad endo and a chocolate cyst on 1 ovary. the operation took about 45 mins and my tubes were clear. i had hardly any pain after and was up and about the next day. i bled for about 5days then it got heaviet which was when my period was due so im guessing thats what it was. my doc told me i have the best chance of getting pregnant ib the next 9 months so i started trying a week afrlter my op. im due on in just over a week so will know then if im pregbant. im not sure when i ovulate but i dont want to stress about it if im not pregnant so the neaxt cople of months im just gonna wait and see and have sex every 2 or 3 days. im due to go back to the doc in 3 months and she thinks i should be pregnant by then. good luck

Oh, good luck. i like to hear lap successes. Although my hormones are out of sync too.

thank you. well i just hope it works have you had one then? if so what for? x

wel the lap is what they do to figure out what the problem is and then they do whatever neds to be done, i hysteroscopy and a lap which was to find the problem and treat the endometriosis. then i had the dye put through my tubes so they can see if there are any blockages. thats what i was told anyway

Just got mine done this wed. I was very nervous about the procedure and results, but it wasn't as bad as I thought, and I'm terrified of drs. I was out cold during the surgery, but only 3 days later can i really move around a lot. I was worried they'd find something bad, but i was also worried we wouldn't find anything and then not know what to do.
They found some mild endo, and cleared everything out, and my dr. is optimistic this could help. I also have PCOS so I guess we will see.
Im past 2 years trying and I wish I'd have gotten the lap sooner, because if it was the endo, i wasted a lot of time and money. So I say go for it if you really want answers, even though it is kind of intimidating

i had a lap and dye in november 08. I expected my news to be bad and it was. i was told i had pcos and that both my tubes where blocked completly. No dye went threw at all. i was told by my consultant ivf was the only way and she refered me straight away. my head was spinning and i was deverstated. i had a rubbish christmas. i was due to start ivf in may but they changed the date to further into the year. i was gettin even more upset. Then in june09 i felt a bit odd and did a test and got a bfp. fast forward to today and i have conceived twice naturally. I do think it was the dye that opened my tubes and thats how it happened. Good luck but i di hope you get your bfp before you have it

Here is my list of questions so far, if anyone can think of anything to add that they wished they had asked please post. Thanks.xx

1. Were tubes open? If not, is it endo, if so was it cleared or do I have to come back in?
2. How bad was the endo?
3. In what locations was the endo found?
4. Was all the endo cleared?
5. Will I be signed off work? I will then explain what job I do.

Hi ladies.
I had my lap and dye august this year, I have been ttc for almost 3 years.
Not even had 1 BFP.
Results f lap and dye were pcos, endo quite bad and my left ovary was stuck down.
So a 45 min op tock 3 hours,
They removed as much endo as possible and released my ovary,
I started bleeding straight after op and got heavy AF 2 days after lasting 7 days.
I was in quite a lot of pain but was told that was normal because of the ovary.
My specialist told my the results the following day as I was kept in over night.
He also said he was vary hopeful that when he saw me in 3 months time he hoped I would have got my BFP.
I am currently cd 33 but my gp did a test on Friday and said it was bfn so unfortunately I won't have a BFP before I see him.

That's a pitty.Still they say 12 months after lap is your best time to ttc. xx
