Is anybody elses 2month old still not interested in toys etc?

ive got a bouncer, playmat and various toys but he still aint bothered by them! he'll probably stay quiet in his bouncer about 10 minutes before he's bored and starts crying TUT :dohh:

I can't wait till the time where he can entertain himself so i can do stuff other than keep him entertained lol

Soph wasn't interested in any of that at 2 months. She only started to get interested just before last weekend. When she was your babies age (so about 2 weeks ago) she was only looking around. Now she has started to reach out to things and she's much more interested in me showing her things and playing with her.

Things have just changed over the weekend, so quickly, it's almost scary! Don't worry, it won't be long for your LO!

the only thing a 2 month old wants is mummy :) its hard work and sometimes i think god corey let me have 5 mins but thats all what being a mum is about.

if u have things to do then put lo down, it wont hurt them to have a moan for abit.

zane wasnt interested in toys till he was about 5 months

It will come. They all develope differently. Some are more social then others

ahh glad he aint the only one!....even every group session i go to, he's all smiles and chatter but within 15 mins, he is screaming his head off. I know lots of babies cry but when mine does it EVERY session, it gets a bit embarrassing

I'll have to wait and see lol i just hope it improves soon!

Yep it will probably be another 2-3 months, sorry! They get so overstimulated at that age, your face is a rock concert to them!

Sophie does that too! I think it's because she's still young compared to the other babies there and it's just so much to take in for them. So many impressions and sounds and things to see, it can be quite overwhelming. I'm sure as they grow older they'll get more social and playful!
Don't be embarrased!

Mine's two months today and she sounds like your LO. We do have a play mat where she looks up at a mirror and she does seemed interested in that. But she doesn't reach out for toys, yet. Everyone says don't wish for time to pass quickly but I sometimes do! :) Just to see LO learn something new would be neat. But I know it will come...

My daughter is still not really interested in toys. Lays on her play mat looking at the mirror for max 5 minutes, and it only lasts that long some times! I have rattles and all the other stuff, but she's not really interested yet. I have tried toys with lights and music to encourage her during tummy time (she hates tummy time) and those toys make her cry right away! Right now she just really likes to be held, talked to, and walked around to see different things. Toys dont really register, and thats ok!

My LO is ten weeks, he lays on his play mat and waves his arms around at the dangly toys. Having said that if I lay him on my bed he waves his arms and legs around at nothing, so I am not convinced he is actually aiming for the toys.

He's often happy with mummy or daddy cuddles or sitting in his rocking chair watching the dog run around or looking around.

Shame really as we have loads of toys that grandparents have bought but he's just not interested yet.

oh lord...i hope it won't be that long!

Snot fair lol the other babies in my group are only a few weeks older and they seem so much more contented and quiet.

Coming from parents that are both quiet, the baby should be also :haha:
