My little girl has always suffered with windy colic from 3 weeks old til now really. Its got better with age now she is just over 5 months she seems to beable to pass the wind better.I just wondered if anyone who has got windy babies weather anyones babies pull off the boob when they are full of wind?I used to find this really stressful and most people have said for me to put her on to formula but i cant see how it would make things better.I had our local breastfeeding team out to see us a few times are what im doing is all good. Its very intrupted sometimes when she is full of wind. But other then rubbing her belly and trying to bring it up theres not much i can do.Ive taken her to see our doctor who says it will go as she starts to sit up and move about on her own.Ive tried infacol, gripe water and colife all which seems to do nothing so been told to stop which i did about 3 months ago.Just wondered if anyone has expereienced this pulling off the boob when windy?

Yes hun it's pretty common. You could try baby massage. I know you are rubbing her tum but there are some moves that are especially helpful with colic - ask your HV if there are any classes locally. In the meantime you could try a warm flannel and see if that helps.

Formula wont make any difference. In fact I'd say it's more likely to irritate it TBH as babies can take more air in from a bottle.

Hang in there poppet - you have come so far!!!! It's totally normal so try not to worry. :hugs:

Ive just started a baby massage course and my next session will be about babys with colic so will hopefully find it helpful.I dont want Olivia to go on to formula anyway i feel i want to breastfeed for as long as i possable.I know this may sound silly but do i lay a warm flannel over the boob i feed her off do you mean?

That's good that you will get the colic massage part next. I mean a warm flannel on her tum. Sometimes sooths them a bit and I also would hold LOs feet and push them up so they are in a little frog like squat so her bum is in a good position for trumping. :D
