what if i do have it.. what can i do to help?

sorry if im going on.. im just so scared of this

Hey hun, how you doing? As you know I have pcos and to be honest I was devastated when I found out. But i'm pretty positive right now and there are so many things that can be done. I remember you were doing really well in your weight loss which is one of the biggest helps. X

Hi

I don't have any experience of PCOS but just wanted to say hi and to wish you all the best. If it is PCOS at least you know what you're dealing with and can get all the right help which has to be half of the battle.

Try to stay positive :hugs:

Hiya, I didn't want to read and run. I've been doing a bit of research on PCOS the past week because I think that's what's up with me. I've noticed that a low GI diet is meant to help the symptoms. I'm not entirely sure what this diet is at the moment, the internet baffles me sometimes  so I'm stocking up on low gi diet books tomorrow from play.com (loads cheaper if you choose to buy used rather than new). And I've just spotted a book called The PCOS Protection Plan, it's got some good reviews on amazon, so I might grab that too, as it's deisgned to help you reduce the symptoms of PCOS, and at less than half price it's a bargain.

I'm off to the dr on Tuesday to ask her to test me for PCOS (not had af since end of November  ). I might not know alot about it at the moment, but these ladies on here are wonderful and always ready to offer any advice they can :hugs:

thanks so much ladies :hugs: i think the biggest symptom for me is that my af is very irregular.... i think i dont ov every 28 days like i sud so i dont get af.. but the last thing which screamed out to me was that i read some where that some ladies with pcos get a constand positive opk.. so the other night i saw some opks for sale so i bought them and thought perfect for the next cycle.. this was cd 35 when i bought them.. i thought what the heck id try one that night it was positve  so i tested every day for 7 days and all as positive as the first i just gone get it.. my last two cycles have been 60 days long i just want to scream..

DM thanks very much :hugs: yeah my head space was better then while i was losing the weight.. ive put at least half of it back i really need a kick start again..

I felt something was wrong when we were TTc and not getting anywhere and people told me I was being silly and just needed to relax and now 20 months down the line, we're awaiting hubby's SSR op as we've been told he's azoospermic.

PLEASE TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS - If you feel something isn't right, get it checked out ASAP xx

Hi,
I too felt I had pcos (VERY irregular cycles and lots of ovary pain) and the doctor eventually ran bloods. They came back suggesting I didnt have pcos but that I wasnt ovualting.
I knew something was up and I have just paid to see a private fertility specialist on Friday, He confirmed my fears, I have PCOS, quite bad :(
But he was so lovely and said he see's loads of people with it and he was confident I'd be able to have children etc.
He gave me some tablets to help me have a period and some other tablets to make ovulate :)
Theres always hope but as Deb111 says - trust your instincts! You know your body and you should insists on tests :-)
Good luck x x
