I am 8 weeks post C-section with my second son, so no where near ready for another baby ;) But I know that I want a third baby in the future, but I was just wondering if anyone had experiences with VBAC, particularly with large babies? Here is my history...

9 years ago I had a vaginal birth with my first son, but he was stuck and I required a forcep delivery. I had an episiotomy and lots of tearing (was told 4th degree by my nurse). He was 8lb 14oz with a 14.25in head.

2 months ago I had my second son by planned c-section due to breech presentation (he ended up being delivered footling breech during the c-section). He was 9lb 6oz and had a 15in head. I have speculated that he remained breech because of his size and that he would have had trouble fitting through my pelvis, just as his brother did, but of course can't know this for sure.

So I guess given my difficult vaginal delivery and the size of my babies, is there any possibility for a successful VBAC? Or am I destined to have a repeat c-section?

Well, I'm not sure if your destined for a csection but I can tell you this, I had my first child January 14th 2007 by c section due to her being "too big" I had my second child on may 6th 2008 by c section because I knew nothing of vbac. I am due with my third child January 25th 2013, and am going for a vba2c. I say, TRY.

Thanks for the reply, I hope you get your vaginal birth!

In a way the c-section was way easier than the vaginal delivery and actually my recovery was much easier, but I would opt for a VBAC just to avoid unnecessary surgery. I guess I have lots of time to decide, LOL
