Thyroid issues TTC,advice,inspiration

New to this..need some advice,encouraging words or people in the same troubles.

My journey...
I stopped taking BC in Dec 2014 and had a normal period then went two months with out a period. Went to the dr and was dx with thyroid problems and was started on medication. My periods were very irregular for the next few cycles. I also had bloodwork done to rule out another hormone problems(all normal) also had two ultrasounds(all normal) then finally got thyroid level checked again and it was normal and I was continuing on the dose I was currently at. And had 4 normal periods and then this January I never really got a period I spotted for a few days then nothing then spotted one day and then nothing for a few days and then I thought I was starting and it was only a day. Called dr spoke to nurse (very rude made me so frustrated almost in tears) she said that its abnormal because of thyroid and if not normal next month to call to see dr. I want to get this figured out prior to pregnancy b/c I know safer but We want to conceive.

Hi there, as someone with thyroid problems I can unfortunately relate. When was the last time you had your levels checked? If your TSH/T4 levels are normal, your thyroid shouldn't be to blame for your abnormal cycles. I’d suggest getting a second opinion. There are so many different things that can cause wacky cycles and it sounds like your doctor isn’t looking into the issue properly.

I hope you get an answer soon. I remember how frustrated I was when I found out I had hypothyroidism three months into TTC. Hugs!
