Sorry, that sounds like an appetizer in some posh restaurant.

Anyways, during my gyno appointment, I was told I have a uterus that is titled backwards. He said it doesn't affect fertility but looking on the net, people recommend lying on tummy etc after BDing. I also read (worringly) that a lotta girls who m/c seem to have a titled uterus.

Anyone got any info / advice / same 'problem'? x

I have the same quirk but was told that it didn't have any impact on fertility/conception. They do say that doggie style bd-ing gives you a better chance of conception with a tilted uterus though. xxx

Thanks hon, I heard doggy style works best too so will be trying that more this month ;-)

I was told the same, it has no effect on fertility or m/c. The true thing though is, I got pregnant twice doggie style. And the ultrasounds had to be done internally, they couldn't see anything otherwise.

It can be hereditary. My mother has it too and had us 2 kids no probs. Apparently it can also shift the position after the birth.

Please don't worry about it at all.

I don't have a tilted uterus but apparently mine is heart shaped - it got picked up on HSG. Gynae seems to think it wont cause me any problems though. (Hope not, seems like I have enough probs TTC as it is!!).

Welcome back Trix, hope you go to Mauritius with a big baby belly!!

Hi - yeah I have a retroverted uterus - FS told me that this should not cause any problems TTC but seems I’ve been TTC for 17 months now and DH has very good SA results I'm wondering if this is causing a problem. I'm having Lap and dye done on Tuesday next week - I'm hoping they will be able to find out more then.

FS told us that as DH SA result were so good that the positions we use TTC should not matter.

I've had lots of symptoms due to my retroverted uterus - very painful periods, pain in some bding positions, some difficulties using tampons and very uncomfortable smear tests - nurse always has problems trying to find my cervix.

I'm always googling it too - I noticed in USA they actually do an operation to correct it. But FS told us that 20% of women have one so it is quite common although in some women it does not cause any symptoms so they may never know.

I hope it causes no problems for you - as FS said to us it's more common that you think :hugs:

I have a retroverted uterus too!
I also get some symptoms associated with it - painful periods, difficulty with tampons and painful smears with the nurse having trouble finding my cervix (ow ow ow!)
I never actually thought that it could affect my fertility though. I didn't know that doggy-style could help though - I'll definitely be trying that one more often!
It seems that I learn so much from this website! Thanks!!
