When you have a short surge, when do you BD? I just recently realized that my surge only lasts 24-36 hours. With BBT and OPK I can see it....For example last cycle I got a positive OPK late afternoon/early evening(about 6ish) on CD 12, pos OPK CD 13 and neg opk CD 14. I got cross hairs on CD 13. My fertile signs such as high, open soft cervix with fertile CM lasted front CD 10/11 to CD 14. I didn't realize how short it was until after the fact and we missed our window AF is already here today(CD 1)....
Any ideas how to time BD?

I wouldn't rely on opk's to time sex. I now tend to get my positive the same day as I O. And I get no positives prior. Just the one and that is it. So I would say if you get 2 positive tests in a row you don't have a short surge.

On my first bfp we did it O-3, O-2, O-1, O, and O+1.

This cycle (which I am sure is a bfp but I am only 10dpo and haven't had a positive test yet) we did it O-4, O-3, O-1, O+1.

That day of rest on O-2 gave more guys on the day before O.

Of you have a good idea of when your ovulation date is then I would time it for around there. Usually every second day starting 4 days prior is good.

After a few cycles you might find that you can pinpoint ahead of time what day or 2 day range you will ovulate on. After tracking for 3 months I know I get the surge on CD11 and CD12 (similar to what you said, there seems to be a 36 hours window for the surge) so we BD on day 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16 just to cover our bases! Our doctor said we should do it every other day to allow the sperm to build up in between, and to use the OPKs just as an indicator but to not let it get in our heads too much.
