Baby girl is 6 months with a fever of 103. She's going in to see the doctor this afternoon, but I know it's just a virus. Her brother had it all last week.

Besides tylenol/ibuprofen, what do you do to make your little ones feel more comfortable? She's hot as a fire cracker and just miserable. Won't settle to sleep for a nap or at night, just fusses and tosses and turns. She'll settle OK in her Ergo carrier but I fear that she's overheating in there with my body temperature pushing up against hers! Advice?

Skin to skin contact. Besides general comfort, it can also regulate a baby's temp even through a fever. When my son was sick I remember how much better he felt after skin to skin when he was too hot.

I agree with pp. Strip baby down to just a nappy, or nothing if you are OK with that and drape a muslin square over. If your lo isn't comfortable being held then just settle her down with little clothing. Cool baths, or sponging down with cold cloths isn't recommended and it doesn't work. Can just unsetle them. Hopefully the fever passes soon and your lo gets better quickly xxx

My daughter had a terrible uti last week and was in the hospital. The nurses had her striped down to just her diaper and kept a fan on her when it was bad. I just laid in bed with her and did skin to skin on the side away from the fan.

I hope your baby feels better very soon.
