The big thread regarding the layout in the announcement section is hard to wade through to find the tips to optimize navigation in the new layout. However, it would be great if ladies posted their advice in one spot.'

Don't post your feedback here about the new layout, I am not a mod and am not forwarding anything. Just a member trying to get all the tips in one spot. The mods have their own thread set up for feedback.

The ones I picked out are here, add to the list if you have suggestions:
  1. Bookmark the sitemap and use that to navigate the forums if you want to avoid ALL ads and articles too. https://www.babyandbump.com/sitemap/
  2. Install an ad blocker for your browser to remove the ads.
  3. Mobile skin is available here: On user cp, go on edit options. It's near the bottom.
  4. Type ctrl and + and it zooms so that it doesn't look squashed anymore

Some other tips I found from the lovely ladies:

In regards to the adblocker thingy.. mine took away the ads but not the articles till I played around with a few of the preferences (in the Ad Blocking rules bit I clicked on the Add Filter button and typed in this address ||crowdignite.com^ after finding out the addy from following one of the articles and made sure that the Enabled box had a tick in it - Not sure if it'll work with all Adblockers but it's worked for me in my Firefox one)
in the adblocker program and now I dont see the articles either.. or the logos. I've zoomed in on the page a couple of times and it looks alot better now

Google ad blocker and download it. :)
The colours are normal for me x

Totally new to adblocker (on Firefox) but putting https://cdn1.momtastic.com/ in as a filter has got rid of the images in the main momtastic box on the homepage. Still working on getting rid of the text!

Ahh to get rid of the "Featured Articles" text... do the same as above but put this address in ||babyandbump.com/images/bnb2/featured_articles.gif and make sure the Enable box is checked

Oh and if people feel really miffed about the whole Momtastic logo then there's a way to disable this too, but it also takes away the Baby and Bump logo...

I managed to get rid of the logo by adding this address ||babyandbump.com/images/bnb2/logo.png to the Add Filter button It actually takes away the Baby and Bump logo as well as the Momtastic one, but it looks like it has to be either have both logos or none at all

HTH :flower:

This tip has been a godsend for my eyes!

Do you have a safe (and free) adblocker for IE? I've added one to chrome but use IE as my default browser.

I found this one, It seems to work and my computer has not yet blown up. I can only presume it's safe.

:brat: althought using that I can't get rid of those articles and they were the bit that vexed me the most. I'll try sitemap.....

No, I liked how you could have a sneaky peek on the right hand side. :(

Did you mean to put a link in there?

I have now switched to chrome and the subscribed threads page is my bookmark so I don't get to see the crap they have added. Basically I'm just reading a few journals now because something about the new layout and colours gives me a terrible headache after a short time.

Yeah, sorry about that, am at home, so can't tell you which site it was! Chrome is much better than IE anyway IMO.

Oh, and for those of you missing the 'view last unread post' button on each thread, just selecting the title of the thread will take you to the last page you viewed in that thread.

Anyone know of a fix for this on the mobile version: when you post a reply your ticker isn't automatically shown, you have to go back in to edit the post and tick the 'show ticker' box. You seem to have to do this each time which is a bit of a pain, I would have thought it may remember  Don't think it has anything to do with my profile as my tickers are automatically shown wgfn on the full version

To get to user cp when on the mobile version click on the following link and bookmark it
