Weeks 26/27 are kicking my butt. A couple of three day long headaches, nausea and worst of all swelling in the lower legs. I have a desk job and try to get up every hour to walk around. I'm also trying to keep legs elevated or moving while sitting.

Any other tips?

Drinking water. Exercising regularly. Salt intake is moderate to low. Blood pressure is normally low.

I'm seriously thinking about compression stockings. Fortunately, I've got a midwife appointment next week so I can get my blood pressure checked out. I'm starting to worry this is a sign of building blood pressure.

fill up a bucket full of very warm water and and icy cold water on one side. dip your feet into the very warm water until you can bare it so it loosens the muscles and then bam into cold water. its a shock therapy it usually works when theres swelling after flights.

I'm only 19 weeks but have been suffering with swelling ankles when working (desk job too) I was given some exercises at my Lazy Daisy class that help a little. I try to do ankle rotations, also foot flexing just to try get the blood flowing a bit. If you can get OH to massage feet or legs always make sure hes flowing towards you to get the blood flow up the legs. If you notice that you are a little bit sweatier by the knicker line in your leg crease too its cos our lymph nodes are there trying to get rid of the excess fluids so if you can massage around there too (should feel small lumps where they are). Also when sitting on the floor with legs straight in front wiggling the legs helps blood flow (i even try doing it when sitting at my desk with legs on a stool :haha:)
