Hi all,

Just wonder how you guys cope with work and extreme tiredness. No-one at work knows as I haven't had a dating scan yet. Tomorrow, I've got to go to an exhibition and the thought of getting up extra early, walking for miles and coming home late is filling me with dread!

I woke up at 1pm today and still felt tired! I'm now resting back in bed!

The other thing I find hard is feeling sick and queasy at work, I have to really really fight it at times.

Anyone got any tips?

i just wanted to sympathize, its so hard to work and i had a rough first 3 months , i worked for 2 of them. I felt awful at work and luckily my boss was away for most of the time so i was able to just put my head on my desk. advice- try and take it easy and if u think it will help you to tell , like ppl will go easier on you, then by all means tell the boss or whoever u work directly under.

hugs

Hi flower,
u poor thing, i totally sympathise with u, i worked while pregnant with my last 3 and its not easy, i also suffered from really bad morning sickness. A little tip for the morning sickness for u, i carried a packet of arrowroot biscuits everywhere with me, they did help. and as for the tiredness, go to ur docs and get them to sign u off for a while if its too much for u, my youngest is 2 and a half and i had time off work because i was so tired, i was 32 and dont think my age helped, now in 34 and pregnant again and this week the tiredness has crippled me, i thank god im not at work. Take it easy and go to docs dont stress yourself worrying, its not worth it, baby is more important. xx

Oh goodness the tiredness is horrible in the first trimester. Is there any way you can rest during lunch or during a break? Even 15 minutes or so every 4 hours would probably be beneficial to you.

thanks for all your replies.

The company I work for is so stingy, your only allowed 3 days paid sick per year (!!!), more than that they dock your wages! I've already had one day off this year already.

I'm just not looking forward to Monday what so ever!

Hi.

Luckily for me everone guessed I was pregnant because of how rough I was looking before I even knew!!

I don't know where you live but in England you are allowed as many days off sick as you need during pregnancy - paid! If you're really stuggling it may be worth telling someone. Even if it's just one manager who you can then phone and ask to speak to if you do call in sick.

I know a lot of people feel worried about telling their work before they've had a scan or seen a doctor but it can be for the best as most of the time they'll be understanding. :hugs:

I'm going through that stage too! It's horrific. My job requires shift work. So I can work 2pm to 11pm then have to work at the latest 7am to 3:30pm, it's horrible. I try not to dwell on the tiredness and sleep whenever I can!

I am getting more and more tired being in work. As soon as i get in, i find myself yawning constantly and have to get up and walk around a bit to wake up.

Luckily, Im only in an office job, so its not too tedious, but it can get boring, so that adds to my tiredness.

As soon as i get in from work, i find myself shattered and just want to lay and watch tv.

im hoping it will get better.

i totally understand! i am having a hard time keeping my eyes open as i type... i have honestly thought about starting to take naps on my lunch break!:sleep:

Thanks guys, for all your advice!

How can I find out more about this?

I'm in my 2nd trimester and I'm still tired so I understand what you are going through. If possible, try to take naps when you get home from work. I do this a lot because this is our 1st child and right now it's just me and hubby and the dog. Maybe get up and walk around for bit. JUst make sure you go to bed at a decent hour so you can get at least 8 hours of sleep. It's normal for you to be tired all the time. Hope you get energy soon.

i didnt think u get paid for sick if your pregnant i think sick pay stays the same pregnant or not, doesnt it ? ive had 3 days off sick whilst ive been pregnant with no sick pay ?xxx
