Hello ladies...I ventured over here from the first trimester page. I have had hemmoroids since before I was pregnant, and I've had an awful time with them. It's like I'll use a medicine (preparation H) for a while, but the second I stop using it, the itching (omg the itching ) comes right back.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

i had them well bad after givin birth...i used Germaline which took away the pain, and epsom salts in the bath everyday...which helped clear them up.

also eat lots of fruits or smooties as it gets things moving if you get me drift.

I had them after giving birth, I seriously thought I was dying. The only advice my doctor gave me was to take baths and wait it out.

Get your dr to prescribe scheriproct, much more effective than over the counter stuff and safe in pregnancy x

Oh I will be talking to my OB about it at my next appt for sure!!!

I had horrible pain with mine. I was considering having them drained, after doing research...I realized I had waited too long to have them drained and I needed to wait it out. It was huge! Anyway here was my solution. I bought some maxi pads and coated the pad and my bum with preperation H. I also looked on the box at the active ingredients in the different types of preperation H and choose the one with the highest numbers!!! It made a major difference. Every few hours I go and coat a pad and my bum and repeat. HTH & Good luck

yeah i had them during pregnancy then after my section they sort of died down but now that my bowels have started working again they are back :/ I guess once you have them they just linger on, regardless of labour or birth so do not be too worried about that aspect, just make sure you are using a decent suppository as well as a gel, I also have been given an anesthetic gel which numbs the piles. I was told they will eventually go once your body gets back into normal rhythm after the birth, but i can take months... as long as you use your gels and creams given by the doc, you should use ultraproct ointment or something like that

I developed one in my first pregnancy and it comes and goes...have not found anything t be particularly helpful.
