TMI: How Long Did you Bleed After Chemical/Early MC?

I had a chemical/early MC on Sunday morning at 4w3d. Today I'm still bleeding relatively heavily compared to a normal AF. I passed a lot of clots earlier in the week (more than I expected since I was so early), didn't have any yesterday, but just today got a little more clotting.

Considering how early I was, does that still seem normal? I took a HPT this morning and it was negative so my hormones must be getting back to normal. How long did you bleed for after a chemical? Was it the normal AF length or longer/heavier? After my first MC it was just like a normal AF, so I'm a bit confused.

I want to proceed with trying again (plus I would just like to get to BD with my husband again anyway) so I really want this stupid bleeding to go away!

I just saw this after posting in the other thread! I am still bleeding, 5 days later, and it got heavy again after tapering off. I'm also having AF like backache. Hoping it tapers off so we can start BD as well

Each one will be different, just like each pregnancy will be different. I had one that I bled for more than 2 weeks, one that I bled for 5 days. The one that bled for over 2 weeks was a chem that happened a week before my af was due. The one that I bled for 5 days was a 7w pregnancy loss. I would get in touch with the doctor and let them run tests. If the hcg isn't leaving your system, you will continue to bleed until it does. And the clots could be what is causing the bleeding to continue.

Just so you know, I've just suffered my 8th m/c so I'm pretty knowledgeable on the topic, unfortunately.

Thanks, momof5wants1. It's odd, I ended up bleeding fairly heavily (with some clots) until Thursday and then it suddenly went to just a little brown tinge on Friday, gone on Saturday. Very odd that it ended so suddenly!

Kategirl, my dates were almost the same as yours. Bad cramping Thursday, clots and bleeding Friday, totally finished by Sunday.

Y'all are lucky. I started to spot on 8/4, light flow on 8/5, woke up at 4 am on 8/6 hemorrhaging and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. They removed the miscarriage and the bleeding slowed back down to a light/medium flow and I'm still on a light flow. Of course, I was 12w4d when that happened and the baby had stopped developing at 9 weeks.

I had seen you talk about that on another thread, momof5wants1. It sounded very scary and I'm so glad you're okay! I've never MC after 6 weeks so mine have both been fairly similar to normal AF, but heavier and don't follow the exact normal pattern.

Scared the you know what out of DH and my kids and me. Thankfully I didn't need a transfusion or anything.

I started bleeding at 5 weeks 6 days. I bled very heavily, pouring/gushing and clots/tissue for 4 days and then like a heavy period for 5 more days. Lots of contractions and cramps. Then spotted for two days. 8 days after I stopped bleeding I got a negative pregnancy test finally. Hope I could help.
