TMI - leaking waters?

So the past couple of days I’ve noticed very damp underwear. I assumed it was sweat, what with this heatwave.
But yesterday and today it was enough to soak through my underwear and leggings - I tried the peeing trick to make sure I’m not leaking urine and it doesn’t appear to be that. Put on a pad and change the pad a few times a day because it feels damp.
Anyway, I’m bouncing on my ball right now (induction has been postponed until 9am tomorrow) and sitting on a towel to minimise sweat. But now the towel and my
Pj shorts feels damp.
There’s no smell really - just kind of sweet.

I know it’s tmi, but has anyone had experience with waters leaking? How do I know if I’m leaking or just a sweaty b*tch  I don’t want to call midwives and waste time as they’re so busy today already

So I’ve never had leaking waters but my water did break with my first. My experience was it was just like the movies where there was fluid everywhere and unmistakably my waters. I called my midwife who had me come in and they tested it. I don’t think it’s a bother if you call them even if you are being induced tomorrow. I think it’s worth having the test done. Good luck!

I’m monitoring with a pad, which is what they’ve advised for now, so I don’t have to go in.
I can remember the ‘hind’ waters going wth DD 5 years ago but I don’t remember how much it was or anything. It’s all a bit of a blur tbh.

Either way, hopefully won’t have much longer to wait :D

Very true. I hope it’s not long for you. Out of curiosity, how will they manage your induction now? I’ve never been induced so sorry if it’s a silly question.

Sounds like it but only way to know for sure is to go in and have them check. Good job your induction is tomorrow though ay :) x

I'd say either you're gonna go naturally tonight, or they can test your the fluids tomorrow and pretty much can't turn you away if your waters are leaking. Either way you're having this baby, mama!!

In both my past pregnancies, I had small leaks before labor. I'd notice it'd leak out at times when there's no way it'd be urine, like when I was sitting. You can also test it with pH paper because it's different than with urine. If you're already getting induced though, I'd probably just have them test it in the morning and possibly give you some antibiotics.

I'm pretty sure I saw some pads from Boots which would test if it's your waters? Similar to what they use at the hospital! May be worth trying!

I spoke to my midwife about this the other day as all of a sudden I've had large damp patches. She said if I put a pad on and that is wet enough to change it then I need to call as waters can have a small leak and trickle x

I’m in the hospital now. They were about to induce but the baby has moved transverse, so waiting to see if I’ll need a section or if they’ll try turning her themselves.
My waters are leaking but it’s a slow trickle so atm they’re just keeping an eye on me. They haven’t mentioned any antibiotics but I hve drs coming to see me this morning so maybe they’ll start them then?

The drs sent me home I’m the end. Baby had moved head down, but was still free from the pelvis, so they decided trying to induce would be too risky. They won’t do a section until last resort because of my spd and irritable uterus - they say it’ll make the section recovery very difficult.
I’m back in on Monday to try again. I’m spending all of my time on my ball and taking high doses of EPO hoping it’ll start something! The good news is I’m 2cm dilated and they think if I can get baby to engage all they’ll have to do is break my waters to start labour naturally. Fingers crossed!!

I see you’re being induced! Fingers crossed it all goes well for you! It’s so exciting 😁 xx

What absolute torture, mama! Phew what a Rollercoaster. Come on baby!
