Hubby noticed dry skin on his penis .... I was wondering how can we treat it...he says its itchy and its cracked ....should we just try lotion? We think its from some cream we used to spicein things up a bit :/ guess we wont be doing that again!

E45 possibly ? Or perhaps some canesten cream OTC? Or a GP visit ?

If it's on the shaft, you can clean the area and use a hypoallergenic, non-scented lotion (Curel). If it is on the head and he is circumcised, he can do the same, but do not get it inside the penis. If he is not circumcised and it is on the head, he can rinse the area with water once a day but don't add any lotion of anything. The foreskin's purpose it so protect the head of the penis, sanitize it, and keep it moisturized, so it should heal itself.

If you are looking for something a little more natural, you can use olive oil mixed with a tiny bit of the juice from some crushed garlic. (Garlic is a natural antibacterial agent and olive oil will moisturize the area and protect it.)

If it hasn't healed up by Monday, I'd call the doctor. A rash in that area can become infected even if cared for properly.

thanks guys he thinks maybe he didnt dry off well enough...he took a bath and he said it seems to be better...so idk what happened...we used a different cream than we have before so i thought maybe it was that... but all is well :) Thanks

Dh is going through something like that at the moment. After 6 days of using antibiotic cream he is almost better.

Dh takes meds for bipolar…could be a contributing factor?

Awifey I think my hubbys reason was due to not drying off properly and the weather since its winter here...I don't know much about bipolar meds...maybe try googling it...has he had it before with taking the meds? If he hasn't then I wouldn't think it would have something to do with it. :/ glad hes getting better :)

He didn't used to take and meds, since he has been trying different meds there have dryness issues. I suppose it could be the water. We are in Abu Dhabi.

If it continues maybe ask his doctor. You never know. :) we were real worried to at first then he realized that maybe he didn't dry off real good and hes better now.
