So I've had loose stools since I was a teenager. I've gone to every specialist there is and they all say nothing is wrong with me. I just have loose BMs for no reason.

Now I heard most women poop during pushing. Is this gonna be even worse for me? Should I tell me doctor about this beforehand?

I'm so worried about this and I would be absolutely embarrassed if this happens.

I was super worried about this, I've had 2 babas and its never happened! Everyone I know who has had babies, never pooped either. Don't stress out about it. If it does happen its only poo... I think that would be one of the least embarrassing thing through Labour haha.

I would maybe just tell them if you are worried, but they really won't care. I was traumatised at the thought of pooing during labour but honestly,when/if it happens you won't care (I DIDN'T BELIEVE PEOPLE WHO SAID THAT) but honestly in the grand scheme of things it will be nothing and they'll simply keep replacing paper/pads or whatever they put down promptly. I have a suspicion I may have done a little, but it's very hard to tell in labour because everything feels like it's your bottom. Don't worry. x

If your stools already tend to be loose, more than likely you'll have a clear-out before and may not even go while in labour. I had a bit of a clear-out (loose stools) in early labour and didn't poo at all when I gave birth. Not everyone does and even if you do, it's normal. They are prepared for it and can clean things up really quickly. You won't even notice it happened and no one (you included) will care.

I was worried about this the first time...and I did poo through the pushing stage, which was nearly an hour long. Yep...I pooped. OH told me. Mil told me. And I knew I did but in that moment in time, I didn't give a f**k. I just wanted that baby OUT. I don't know anyone who's worried about pooing in labor/pushing to where they're holding back lol because it's true. You just don't care at that point!

LOL - yes - if you do poop- trust me you wont realize it and the nurses get it up- it happened to me at the end- On one daughter though when i was in labor- I think my body just got rid of EVERYTHING POSSIBLE while i was in labor- What made me happy was before i got prepped after they got me in my room- i said very dainty- "um i have to go to the BR" The nurse goes- "OH - I know that face- go right ahead" and she started giggling- made me feel better about it lol- becuase it happens its a part of life you cannot prevent it. TRUST ME you wont care at all - I have 3 Vag births and only the last one resulted in the poo while pushing - no one cares at all about the poo they will be focused on you and baby being safe and sound and healthy! Good Luck love!!!! all my best to you!

Haha I remember feeling the exact same way...as if it would happen and a nurse or the doctor would say 'ewww"...and I remember a few times thinking that I may have just pooed during labour but it seriously doesn't faze you in the moment...as others have said, you just want that baby out!! And the thing that surprised me the most was that you don't have your normal thought process (or if you do, you don't remember) but your mind goes into such a state that it almost shuts off and your body takes over. I remember describing it afterwards as if I was floating about my body watching myself deliver that baby.

Good luck..it truly is an amazing thing!!

I was worried about it before having DS too. And though I didn't get to push him out (had an emcs) and during my labour I lost all dignity. I really don't think it would have been an issue

I don't think I pooed during the pushing stage as I had a clear out about 12hrs before. Like pps have said, your body jst takes over and you don't think about anything but getting that baby out, especially at the "ring of fire" moment!! If you're nervous about it though, mention it to your doctor or midwife, they'll be happy to put your mind at ease.xx

Oh I was actually more nervous about experiencing the ring of fire than pooping. And I did feel it, it hurt and stung. But it was just a few seconds. Plus, every time I had to push, it really hurt to do it. Other women say pushing alleviates pain, but it brought on more pain.

Omg I pooed about 4 times lol back to back and 30 hours In
Est labour not fun but I didnt care at all lol

Lmao i just asked dh if i did because ill be honest i dont remember, and he says no... U didnt poop but u were gassy and it smelled like poop lmao... Sorry too funny.

In early labour my body had a clear out so I didn't have to poop when I was at the pushing stage. I had worried about this beforehand but I wish i hadnt because at the time I honestly wouldnt have cared if i did. You are just too concerned with getting that baby out that nothing else matters, try not to waste anytime worrying yourself over it, it's really not worth it, you will be fine xx
