So a friend told me that she used only one Avent bottle and that it pulls in air and it caused her baby to have more gases.

What the heck? I was going to get a set with the sterilizer (sp?).

Anyone knows anything about it?

I have used ADVENT since max was 1 day old , i used it for about 2 weeks then stopped cause h got very gassy , now im using NUBY bottles ..

Sam is breastfed but I've got an Avent pump with bottles and steriliser and we've never had any problems with them. There's a valve in the teat which lets milk back into the bottle so that they don't need to break suction as they suck (I think!) - some people have suggested that the bubbles going through the milk means that they'll end up taking more air in, but watching Sam drink from them they do just seem to let big air bubbles out at the top of the bottle - and their studies have suggested they reduce colic.

Some info on them here...

Hated Avent, my mum was convinced they were the best bottles to go for!!

I changed to MAM and they're fabtastic, if they do get air in you can hear it coming out the vent at the bottom.

MAM fit in the avent steriliser as thts the one I had

xx

ive got AVENT bottles and im finding them ok,
the only time joshua had really bad wind was when he was on the stage 1 teats. when i put him on the stage 2 teats hes been fine.
we have had no colic since being on stage 2 teats.
yeah joshua has wind afetr a bottle but so does every baby with every bottles that are on sale out there.

After I stopped breastfeeding I used avent bottles but they were awful, I too got them with an avent steam steriliser but I switched to dr brown bottles which do fit in the steriliser (with some clever organising) they were great and I never looked back

Does Avent sell the sterilizer by itself without the whole set of bottles in it?!

Thats one I have and I use MAM bottles.

That steriliser comes with 2 bottles and 2 soothers, so if you don't plan on using avent that doesn't matter.
