Hey ladies,
Just wondering what's "normal" for an 18 month old in regards to social interaction. I know at this age they don't necessarily make friends and they can be very moody.
My 18 month old has a global development delay, I've been watching her lately playing with other children. She doesn't like children coming near her, and will scream and hit if anyone comes even remotely near her. She prefers being on her own. She screams at anyone who comes near her. It's starting to be hard to have her around other toddlers her own age, because they seem to be the polar opposite (they still play mostly alone, but don't freak out about other kids)
Is this normal at her age? My concerns stem from the fact that I have aspergers and Autism runs in my family, and I'm so scared that she will end up like me
