Hi...bit worried but trying not to stress too much!

Yesterday evening my son who is a v healthy 34lb toddler launched himself onto my lower abdomen whilst I was sitting on the sofa....he kind of ran and dove to get up and pushed his whole weight on one hand into my stomach. Needless to say it hurt and since then I've had a prickling aching feeling all along my abdomen- I didn't have this before.

I've not had any spotting or bleeding and I'm sure everything's fine I'm just a bit concerned- could he have done any damage???????? X

To be honest I would think that baby is very well protected and quite low down at your stage and it shouldn't be too much to worry about, especially as you have no spotting etc....but I would just keep an eye on it and if you do start to worry too much, pop to your local maternity unit and have them check you over xxx

WSS. Baby is well protected at the moment, so you're probably ok. I'm 8 weeks ahead of you and my toddler crawls across my stomach and really pounds on it somedays ! Everythings fine though. Go to the Dr if you're worried. I think we underestimate how cosy and cushy it is inside.

I'm in a similar situation. My 50 lb dog jumped on my belly this morning and set me off into a huge panic! I started feeling kind of sore in my lower abdomen so I called my OB clinic and talked to the on call doctor who said that unless I'm having heavy cramping or bleeding that everything is fine. He said that the uterus is still small and baby is even smaller with a lot of protection and cushion, and that it takes a lot of force to do any kind of damage. I asked about the soreness, and he said that it was probably just abdominal wall pain from the blow or normal growing pains and not something to worry about. I felt a lot better after talking to the doctor about it! :hugs:

My son manages that about once a day. Plus, he's always crawling all over me. So far, no worries about it damaging the baby.

Mine is always climbing on me begging to be held. He also pounces me constantly on my belly. I wasn't so worried before but now as I am at 6 months on I am starting to worry as the baby has moved up a bit.

My one year old is the same. He sits on my knee but then wiggles round and jumps on my stomach. He also climbs over my stomach too.

I still feel baby move, usually in response to being thumped and sat on so I'm guessing he's ok and we already have a bit of sibling rivalry going on!

thanks ladies, you've really put my mind at rest - thinking about it im sure i had similar type pains at this stage with my son and put it down to round ligament pain...pretty much the same, perhaps triggered off by the blow! :)

Haha, kids eh?

My dog jumps on my stomach daily. He does get told off though, and looks at me to say "What did I do mum?" :dohh:

xoxox

I would not worry my toddler also does this to me daily. If im lieing on the bed beside me he climbs untop of me and likes to fall asleep. So dont be to worried i am sure all is well.
