I had a Emergency C section with my last baby, laboured for 20 hours, used forceps, and baby failed to progress and did a poo invitro so i ended up in a c section,
After delivery doctor told me i have a narrow birth cannal and was to small to deliver naturaly and it may happen again in my next pregnancy.
This dose run in my family my mum has the same thing.

Im expecting again and hoping for a VBAC this time around, the docs seem to want to want me to agreee to a repeat C section, but they have not done any tests or scans to see how narrow my birth cannal realy is?
Has anyone had the same thing, were you offered a late scan to see how big the baby is or to see the birth cannel? Just seems to me like the docs want to jump to quickly into a c section with out giving me a chance naturaly?

Of course if the bub or myself is in imediate danger i will do the c section without hesitation, my last section took longer to recover about 3 months as i strained the stitches, not nice, would love to avoid it this time around!

Anyone deliverd naturaly after this diagonosis?

Thankyou.

Are you in the US? I've literally never heard of this in the UK but googled and loads of women in other countries have said doctors have told them this.

No im in Australia, Doctor said i could try for a natural birth but may end up in a c section anyway. Hoping to hear other women with the same issue that went on to have a succesfull natural delivery.

Out of curiosity how do they measure your birth canal?

"winegums" i have no idea? I only got told of the problem after they had to do a Emergancy C section on my first bub, apparently this was one of the issues that led me to have the C section. My bub was 8 pound 6 ounces too so not small either!
Was hoping they could offer a scan or X ray or something too see how small it realy is, then mesure the baby late in the pregancy too see if a natural birth will be possible for me.
Not sure what they offer for this, hopeing someone out there has been though the same thing and can offer advice!

Did they have you on your back for the delivery? I've read that if you get in a better position (squatting/ standing/ birth stool/ etc.) it helps to open up the birth canal more and allow the baby to pass through. If they are sure it won't work then a planned section may be best for you and baby.

Yeh, i was on my back on the bed for delivery of my first. I also had a epidural realy early so was unable to move which is why i think the labour was so long too.
They never offered me any other positions during the delivery even though i noted in my birth plan i May have had the narrow birth cannal, i guess the doctors didnt realise it applied to me till they were down there trying to pull him out, even forceps didnt do the job. This time around im going to stay mobile for longer use the fit ball, and walking to encourage bub down, on all fours sounds good for delivery too, just not sure if i can cope without the epidural, was bliss last time it went in, not sure if gas alone will cut it for me!!
