Just wondering if anyone has tried the variflow and/or medium flow teats? if so what's your opinion of them? I tried ds on the variflow ones about 4 weeks ago but they were too fast and just drenched him. im thinking of trying them again at the next feed. is there much difference between variflow and medium flow? which would be better to use?

I bought a packet of the variflow teats and tried them 4weeks ago, they came out too fast and soaked ds and he kept pushing it out so he wasn't quite ready for them yet. i tried them again there and he polished off 6oz in 20mins (normally takes 40mins) and burped plenty he seems happy. think i'll need to buy some more

i got the variflow teats cause when my LO was taking the bottle he kept sucking the teat in and it was collapsing on itself the 1st couple of times load of milk came out but id say after the 1st day he was flying wit them plus i found alot easier to wind

Yes i have noticed its much easier to wind. used them for about 3 feeds now sometimes hes fine sometimes goes too fast and it comes out fast. need a couple muslins to hand. was it fast for a few feeds then normal after for you? x

yea it took him a few feeds to get used to it i went threw so many bibs lol but stick with it they just need to get used to the faster flow xx

i will do thanks past three feeds hes took 3oz in 5mins and took 5-6oz altogether at each feed. it can take 30-45mins to take 5-6oz. first time he took 6oz in 20mins, 5oz in 15mins and im still doing this feed but so far 3oz in 5mins. a lot less time

With the normal teats no matter how hard they suck it only comes out at one speed but with the veri flow the harder they suck the more they get and it can take a while for babys to realise they can control the speed.

he seems to be doing much better on the variflow he feeds quicker, gets plenty of burps up well and seems happier that hes not having to work so hard to get the milk.#
only complaint is sometimes quite a bit of milk comes out the sides. i take it that happens the harder or faster he stucks?? but then he normally slows down. but as you ladies say after a few feeds he will get more and more used to it. but so far so good

aw thats great glad they are working for ya! yea he has been used to sucking hard to get the milk he just has to get it into his head that he doznt av to anymore lol makes it handier on u to cause when i was using the slow 1s it was the same 40mins to take a 5oz bottle and he was lookin fed every 2 hours (still is) felt like all i was doin was feedin him can enjoy my time with him so much more now
