Tommee tippee movement sensor monitor...help please!

Hi all,

So I have the tommee tippee movement sensor monitor and have only just set it up at last. I'm not currently using the sensor mat so am just using the baby and parent unit. The thing is I have the parent unit downstairs with me and it's linked up fine with the baby unit, but no sound comes out of it unless I manually press the talk button, but that only lasts for a few seconds.

Does anyone else have this monitor who is able to tell me what I'm doing wrong? Volume is on max so I'd like to hear all noises from the room, even if that means crackles on the monitor.

Thanks so much! She's just started going to sleep at this time but I can't relax and every 10 mins I'm rushing upstairs to check on her!

I had this problem. Its a fault, take it back! If you use the mat you get sound continuously, if you turn the mat off the sound cuts out after a few seconds? Its not supposed to do that. It happened on two i had after i swapped it - the third time i swapped for the angel care movement monitor and love it. It was a bit disconcerting at first because it is supposed to be silent unless they make a noise! The tommee tippee one is not supposed to though! Rubbish monitor, i would not recommend. They obviously have manufacturing problems but still sell it. I took it back to argos ( without receipt, i put it in the wash, true but likely story!) and they replaced the first time no problem. I told the truth, i used it always with the mat but when i forgot i realised the problem and said it was useless if i couldnt hear her as in a few months she would be moving around too much to use the mat (she was about 4 months by then and it was purchased a long time before that) . My LO is 9 and half months now and moving around - not had one false alarm with angel care. I posted a thread about this when i had problems and it seems like we are not the only ones to have dud monitors

I have the tommee tippee one and we love it, but we do use the mat, he does wriggle and sleep on his side but I have found where to place him to stop false alarms. I have not tried it without the mat but will have a look.

We had a false alarm with it, when we were smack bang in the middle of hows your mother! Ive never seen my OH move so fast in his life! Was awful at the time but we can laugh about it now

I have found that I have to place him higher up the mat than I thought I would have to, we had a false alarm too until we sorted out the placing lol don't think either of us had ever moved so fast either! I even bought a spare for when we go away to see family etc
