hey girls
just wondering when is too early to be planning??
we are getting married in january 2011 which is about 16 months away and i feel im doing it all too soon, like i wanna go dress hunting and im taking my bridesmaids dress shopping in a few weeks for theirs and im trying to work out a budget so we can save for it. and we have our final guest list already done.
but i feel like every one else is just so laid back about it and 'oh it will happen' and 'you have time still to organise all that'
am i just rushing??:flower:

You are just getting ready, which is great as Im sure you dont want to be rushing it, its smart that you are taking your time to get everything right and perfect for your Big day.

Well ours is not until Feb 2011 and I'm planning like mad?
Reception venues book out years in advance depending where you are, and aside from all that I'm just a mad perfectionist and like to be very very organised.
Gives me plenty of time to find gorgeous things and ideas without settling for something that isn't quite how i want it just because I'm feeling the pressure of time.
I personally feel like 17months ish away is the perfect amount of time for me but I guess its a personal thing in a lot of ways too. Depends on how you like to work/ approach things but you sound like you are enjoying yourself so that's the most important thing right?!:happydance:

Oo! Just noticed you are in Aus too!!! Helloooo! lol
Are you getting married in Geelong?
We live in Canberra atm but we're getting married in Adelaide. OH is from Adelaide, I'm from Melbourne

I am hoping to get married in February 2011 in Mexico. I am waiting for the agent to release the prices so I can start planning! Definately not too early :)

I don't think it's too early to start planning at all but I do think you should maybe wait for bridesmaids dress fittings. You should wait until about 6 months before if they arent being custom made as if they put weight on or lose it your a bit stuck iykwim xxx

Hi

I don't think it's too early. I'm getting married in August 2011 and I've already started planning and booking things! I have found that many things are already booked (people can book up to 3 years in advance!!) and I'm having to start searching for the 'perfect' thing all over again!!

I have my first choice of band and venue though so that's good!! I'm like you though muminlove I like to be SUPER organised!! :D

xxx

thank you girls!!
muminlove, we arent in geelong anymore we just moved from there and now we are in warrnambool. we are getting married here aswell cause most of OH family is from here but my family is from about 7 hours up north but they are gonna come down for it lol

i like being organised and i guess i just want something to focus on....as if TTC isnt enough lol but i also think i enjoy it lol

Not too early at all hun. At least if you start now there will be less to cram in later on! x

Gotta love the crazy all over the place family-ness hey? Gone are the days when you live and die in the one town!
Yeah I know what you mean about having something to focus on, been getting mighty broody of late and we want a bit of a gap between our first and our next so I'm trying to concentrate on planning and getting back in shape instead of picking out names! lol
And it's just heaps fun too...
Have you finalised much yet?

lol yeah, i should prob concentrate on 1 or the other lol but thats just me!!
we havent really finalised anything yet just getting some styles and diff things that we want put together!!....

Trust me, it is NOT too early! Some places require booking far in advance. I planned my wedding for a year and a half and it was still stressful, honestly. This is the time for you to research, outline, and make sure that your vendors are compatible, schedule-wise and all. They'll want your decisions on everything from when to start music to what time dinner should begin, what time dancing should begin (if you're doing all that); everything needs to be set and it'll all come down to your decisions- but within their standard operations, iykwim. I'm not trying to stress you out! lol It's good that you have time to plan because if you can give yourself an outline to work with from the start, you can go in knowing exactly what you want so you don't end up having to throw together a wedding based on what's easiest (like I did). That will help enormously with timing, budget, and your sanity level.
