Toy clearout this weekend

Every year before Amanda's birthday I do a toy clearout and there will be a massive one this year!

So many toys that my kids don't play with. But to be expected as they grow like weeds.

Fortunately, a lot of Jayden's toys can be handed down to Chase later on.

But, yeah, the secret room is getting an overhaul.

I used to do it when they were in school. Amanda would not part with outgrown clothes or toys until September 2008. Now she knows and helps me get rid of stuff that no longer fits or that she doesn't play with anymore. She knows that if she wants new stuff, she needs to clear out the old.

Jayden, well, I still make sure he is in school when it comes to his toys. But, I don't usually get rid of a lot of his because of Chase.

@ the secret room. Well, in cupboards in that room are toys that they haven't even looked at since moving in here. So out with those!

I do this every year before xmas too, and its such a big job, i have to make sure Mike takes the kids over to his parents or something, cos if not they cry or sit with me saying "i NEEEEEEEEEED to keep that" yet they havent played with it for months!

Im having real trouble doing this at the moment-Jacks toys from last christmas are in MINT condition AND he still plays with them all.I must have chosen good pressies last year!
But it means i can't throw anything away but theres no room for the next haul....any suggestions?

Rewrap them and give them to him as gifts this Christmas?

I need to do this, however my mother is a pack rat and goes into hysterics everytime I mention it because "people bought that for her!" or "but that's from so and so...!!"

Forget kids toys - I really wish I could do this for my OH with all his general gubbins!

He has so many gadgets and clothes he never uses/wears and our cupboards are so full of these things that we never have anywhere to keep the things we do need and use regularly
