Im almost 30 weeks...So I know she's got plenty of time to turn but I'd like to encourage her sooner rather than later, they think she's favoured this position with her hands and feet down pretty much the whole pregnancy.

Tips anyone?xxx

No tips I'm afraid, but my bump was transverse at 28 weeks and had turned spontaneously by 31 so maybe you won't need to do anything.

My LO is also transverse I've had no luck yet :-( but try https://www.spinningbabies.com/ they have loads of tips to try and move baby into place!! Xx

My LO is breech at the minute so I'm hoping she turns in the next few weeks - when she stretches out its starting to get painful as I get a head in the diaphragm!

No tips, other than try the spinning babies site, I've started playing gentle music at the lower part of my bump to convince her to shift. I've got another midwife appointment at 32 weeks so if she hasn't shifted by then I'm going to ask the midwife for some suggestions as I REALLY don't want a C-Section.

Same here..... I will do anything so I don't have to have a c-section. Seems the little madam doesn't want to agree with me though lol xxx

Stupid question, but how do you know which way up your baby is without an ultrasound? I would hazard a guess that my boy is feet down because I still get kicks to my cervix, and more pushes higher up than kicks..but I couldn't say for sure. Is it the midwife who tells you? My midwife tells me nothing :S

Nobody will be concerned or even need to tell you position of baby until 36 weeks. Anything beforehand would be pointless worrying about, baby's can cartwheel freely right up until the end if they fancy it.

Try spinning babies if you fancy but being so early baby could easily flip back to the position they are most comfortable in.

I'm nearly 36weeks with a breech & will be discussing ECV on Monday.

My baby is transverse it hurt i think when she stretches :(

I did the inversion from the SpinningBabies site constantly when my first baby was breech at 34 weeks. He went from breech to transverse to oblique to head-down and engaged well in the span of a week and a half! :) I definitely suggest trying their methods, especially the inversion.

Mine was found via scan.... Having to have them rather regularly atm..... The midwives can tell you the basic position the bigger the baby gets by feeling around though xxx

They are checking positioning early with my baby as there are growth problems with my bump. If she doesn't turn by 34 weeks there is a good likelyhood of their being not much room to turn her, which is why it's been recommended that I "encourage" her to turn now, so she gets used to the position.
This is information from 2 different hospital specialists and 2 hospital midwives and also my community midwife.

You have lots of time, no need to worry! Like Kristy mentioned, go to spinning babies and do their inversions and rebozo sifting (which feels awesome!!!) to encourage baby to move. Also sitting reclined or in a deep couch/chair is the worst thing you can do for position. I know it's tiring, but always leaning slightly forward and being more active will definitely help. I have panicked periodically through this preg when baby swapped head down to transverse and back. A c-section is my biggest fear after already trying to recover from a bikini cut to deal with a non-pregnancy related issue.

Theres alot of time for her to flip... hope baby does girlie:)

I'm 31 weeks and baby has been and still is transverse. It's definitely uncomfortable when she stretches! I never had an issue with my boys, as they were both head down very early, so position issues never occurred to me until now. If by 34-36 weeks baby still isn't head down then it becomes a concern, but I'm not going to worry too much for several more weeks. There's time to turn and this is the most active baby I've had, so I know trying to turn her now would be useless because she'd probably flip right back. I do think there are times where she turns and then turns back, but at this point I'm not worried about it. Obviously I'd like to avoid a c-section, especially when I really enjoyed labor and the whole experience(had an epidural:thumbup:), but I figure it's not the end of the world if I need one. As long as she's healthy!

My LO was transverse at 32 weeks and is now head down. According to the doc, it's quite uncomfortable for the baby to be transverse too and they usually move head down in time:thumbup:
