I took my DD to see the HV today and have her weighed....she has lost 2 oz! I know its nothing really and I'm not stressing about it....HV said to try her on a different formula type as DD is refusing her bottle. She has also started waking up during the night whereas before she was sleeping through, she doesn't nap more than 30 minutes at a time so shes always tired, poor thing.

The HV said she was waking up 'cos shes obviously hungry I just don't know which formula to try, she is on Aptamil first at the mo and definately doesn't like SMA gold (tried that when she went from BF to FF), she also won't have the hungry baby or easy digest (both aptamil).

She is on infant gaviscon for reflux....I'm totally baffled what to do now...soy perhaps, or cow and gate or Hipp.......etc..

Cow and gate?

Failing that maybe start weaning her early?

C&G are same company as Aptamil so i dont know how different they are.

Jac's on SMA gold...even though i tried C&G Comfort and Aptamil early on i came back to SMA as it suited him better.
If i had to change now i think would try the Hipp organic....or as arcangirl mentioned maybe try early weaning.

Jac has days now where he loses interest i his bottles...and he has put loads of weight on up to now as he has been a big drinker...so if it continues i'll be weaning early....especially if he starts waking in the night.

Maybe have another chat with the HV about weaning early.

xx

I moved to the Hipp organic from aptimal at about 4 months after BF for the first 3months. They've also just brought out a hungry baby version of the infant milk. The only downside is that you have to buy a box because its not available in cartons. Boots are the cheapest (less than £6) and you get the points too! How about Heinz nurture - that's quite good too - and comes in a ready made carton so you can give it a try.

oops sorry forgot to say she is on baby rice after her second milk feed, been weaning for about a week...have just run out and bought cow and gate thinking it is close to aptamil so hopefully she'll like the difference but her stomach mightn't think it too different iykwim. will let you know, thank you so much for your advice xx

She took the first feed really well, then back to being awkward with the second!! Will persevere for a day or two and see how it goes. I am seeing the dr Friday for something else but will chew his ear regarding this if shes still having problems. Thanks again guys.
