trying to conceive for 15 months

I've been trying to conceive for 15 months now, almost 16! my partner has varicocele veins in his testicles and was diagnosed with this a few years ago, the doctor told him having surgery could just make him more infertile if it wasn't successful so he chose not to have it, so here goes

im a healthy female and always ovulate, I am very regular so I know im healthy! im always taking my folic acid, I cant think what is wrong apart from my partner having varicocele, I was just wondering if it is possible for me to get pregnant with him having this? I was wanting to do it naturally but I feel its taking so long and im not sure if it will happen or im just getting my hopes up for nothing

can anyone give me any advice? ( he would kill me for letting you all know his problem! ) but I feel I just need someone to talk to

If I were you, I'd make a visit to the RE for a fertility workup for both you and your partner. Has your partner had a sperm analysis? Some men have varioceles and their counts are just fine.

Also, while it's a very good sign that you're ovulating regularly, it would be a good idea for you to get checked out too. Ovulation is a huge part of getting pregnant, but there can be other things wrong. It's best that you get checked out too so that you can be sure that everything is working properly. Then you can make an informed decision on how to proceed.

Im very similar to you- but we've both had full workup and ive had laprascopic surgery. My husband has a varicocele (?) im still not entirely sure its effect on fertility, but i think dh's dr said bc the vein is too small/narrow and this hurts sperm production. My dr thinks that having it dialated will help our fertility greatly. She didnt mention any negative effects?

If you can I would get your guy to have a SA just to see how this is affecting his count. Also to you temp or chart? This will really help pinpoint ovulation and making sure you are taking advantage of you're fertile period.
