okay, just a quick question.......this may sound dumb, but frustration is setting in..... why is it that when youre young they tell you to be careful drinking and unprotected sex, and then when youre older, that theory becomes the opposite?
any ideas?

Girl, if I knew that answer! I keep telling myself that if I was 16 and in the back of a truck I'd be pregnant faster than you could say it. But being that I am a responsible adult, on the cusp of my 29th, married with insurance, I couldn't get pregnant if I sacrificed my husband to the preggers gods...... its frustrating for sure.

This made me giggle. All those teen years spent worrying about getting pregnant.. now here I am, wanting it so bad, but of course it doesn't happen! Life is just funny that way, even though it's really not so funny!

I always wonder myself. The health classes that had the young moms coming in with babies saying it happened on their first time just because they didn't have a rubber or he pulled out. BS I tell you.

Maybe with all the raging hormones of teenage years pregnancy happens more accidentally? I wish it would happen that easy now.

this thread is funny b/c it's so TRUE! TELL ME ABOUT IT! I'm even 'older' and know that I would make a much better parent at my age now than I ever could have in my 20's and I just know it's going to be a challenge!! But everything else is aligned ~ it should be the other way around!

Ive tried offering oh to the preggers gods! It didnt work!! The worse thing is when people tell me when im more secure in my lufe and settled it will happen.good job. Own home. Husband...what am I missing? So maybe il go backwards an be young free an reckless see how it goes! 😊

Girl, I actually had a co-worker tell me that if I would just believe in God that I would get pregnant.....

Its amazing all the "good intention propaganda" that is thrown at you in times of problems or heart ache. I wanted to ask her if that mentality would work for my friend's little brother who is literally dying of cancer...

I totally get that, I am 'young' still technically at 22 so have a lot of friends still trying to prevent pregnancy and panicking when they forget to take one pill and I just sit there like a) if you do get pregnant I may just murder you and b) the likelihood of you getting pregnant is so slim it is ridiculous. And of course, none of them have ever ended up pregnant like that.

Totally know where you're coming from! I'm 26 and have spent the last 10 years frightened to miss one bc pill now we've been ttc for 6 months I wonder why I was so paranoid!

So glad I only have an 11 year old sister, it is going to be a long time before she is getting pregnant and something will have to be really wrong fertility wise for her to beat me!

Seems strange an sad to consider il be an aunt when all ive wanted for so long is to be a mum. But have to be thankful for small mercys and at least il be apart of this babies life an hopefully make a positive impact
