trying to keep track of AF... confused

i need a little help lol

i've charted my af since march of this year, here's what ive got...

March 16th - AF
(38 days later)
April 23rd - AF
(37 days later)
May 30th - AF
(30 days later)
June 29th - AF (yes it came, booo )

Does anyone see a pattern so that maybe I can try and predict when my next AF might come? Also I need help with calculating ovulation. I am terrible terrible terrible at this.

Have you thought about temping? Cycles fluctuate, but your luteal phase usually only changes by a day or 2. If you temp you can see when you ovulate and then you can figure out how long your lp is. It helped me figure out my cycles.

Have you just come off the pill? When i came off my cycles were anywhere from 30-80 days but after around a year they had settled around 28 days. Now, they are between 25-31 days so predicting ovulation can be hard for me too, espec as ihave such a short LP so i use OPK's.Maybe start doing that this month-although as your last two cycles have been around 30 days hopefully they will not be longer than that.With a 30 day cycle i woudl imagine you are ovulating between days 14 and 20.Sorry the witch got you this month

babyblog, I haven't been on the pill, my period just likes to do it's own thing, which is maddening. Where is a good place to get OPK's? And is there a good time to use them during my cycle? It's okay, there's always next cycle right?

I'm pleased I invested in some ov tests. I'm not currently TTC but want to get my body straight for when my partner gives me the go ahead (hopefully not too far away ). So far I thought I wasn't ov-ing because the tests were VERY negative...not a sausage. Then much later in the cycle than my chart (ipod application) predicted, I got a good strong result for ovulation. We don't all have to be dead on the predicted/average days but it's something I wouldn't have known without trying x

It is annoying isn't it.I buy OPK's off of amazon because thet are cheaper-yesterday i ordered 30 for £5.50.If iwere you i would start testing around 10 and just keep going until you get your positive.It is likely you will ovualte much later than day 10 (first day of period being day 1) but as your cycles are a bit all over the place you may as well. You need to save your wee for a couple of hours and not drink anything so it is strong-say from 12 noon don't drink anything until 2pm when you test and you are looking for the test line to be as dark as the control line.Some people use digital ones as they have a smiley face on your fertile days which can be easier to read then strips, but as i say, strips are cheaper.

Or just have sex every other day of your cycle, depends what way you want to do it really! Good luck

It's actually pretty easy. You just need a basal body thermometer and a chart. Sometimes the thermometers will come with one. First thing you do in the morning before you get up to go to the bathroom or even take a sip of water, you take your temp. Sometimes it can take a couple of months to get to know your cycle by looking at your temps, but you will definitely see a pattern develop through out the month. The day before you ovulate, your temp usually dips and then the following day it will shoot up and remain up if you are pregnant, if not then it ususally drops the day you start. Good luck if you do end up using this method.

Definitely invest in a BBT (basal body thermometer). This will help you get the hang of when your cycles will start and after you have that down, you can use the BBT to chart when you will ovulate too. It is very useful! Have to test first thing in the morning, before you even get out of bed!

Also, it isn't always accurate for women ( it is for me) but check your CM (cervical mucous). Once it becomes very watery/clear eggwhite type texture, that is your fertile myrtle beach!! Very good sign ovulation is near or even already present. Check for your LH surge too. Once you have detected it ( I recommend testing twice a day for better accuracy) you have 24-48 hours to catch the egg with
