I am currently on my 2WW and it's brutal. I completed 1 round of a nonmedicated IUI session that was not successful. This last month I used the lowest dose of Letrozole and had 1 mature follicle. Its doesn't sound like I have had issues ovulating but we still have not been able to get pregnant. He has been checked and is fine. My question is, do we do another round of IUI if this one doesn't take or what's people's thoughts on taking breaks. I have found conflicting info about doing them in a row. Thanks in advance.

Have you considered ivf? I have talked to many ladies here who regret shelling out so much money on iui when ivf could have done the trick so much sooner. If your eggs/ovulating/lining and health is good then maybe you could try preseed? we are not sure if the :spermy: is the issue but we love preseed and I'm sure it wouldn't hurt

Not sure if I've helped but I hope someone else can do more for you!
Chin up! And FX!

Getting pregnant isn't only a matter of ovulating and your DH having normal sperm! I've been regulalrly Oing for 2 years and still no BFP! We've been through 6 failed medicated IUIs and are going to start long protocol IVF this cycle. They say there are so many things that can go wrong in the whole process from fertilization of the egg until implantation. They don't even know all the reasons why it goes wrong and are limited in what they can test for.

I think they say that if you don't get a BFP in your first 3 IUI rounds, chances are IUI won't work for you (although I have heard of plenty exceptions so if you're up for e.g. 6 IUIs then do it!). It depends I guess on what your preferances are. I know some say if you're diagnosed unexplained then it's best to go straight to IVF. In my case I didn't have a choice since the state is paying and we were forced to try 6 IUIs since we're "diagnosed" with unexplained infertility.

If you feel you need a break than by all means, take one! I don't think you decrease or increase your chances by any means by taking a break. That being said, I don't think doing them in a row decreases or increases your chances either. I've never heard that anyway!

Thanks for the replies! I have thought a little about IVF but our insurance does not cover it at all. How do people pay for IVF??? It's so expensive! Also today I was talking to my fertility NP and she mentioned Epsom salt baths should be avoided when trying to conceive. Of course I did an Epsom salt bath the night before IUI to relax. I didn't ask why not as I was somewhat taken back but wondered if people have heard this before?

Sorry to hear about all the IUI tries. I can't imagine what that feels like every month. What a roller coaster of emotions you must have had to deal with! Good luck with the IVF!

In my case I live in Denmark where infertility is actually seen as the disease it is. So if you've tried naturally for at least 1 year, the state pays for your fertility treatments (except the initial cost of the fertility drugs unless you reach a certain limit). I should perhaps mention that taxes on paychecks here are around 45% while taxes on goods is 25%. So in a way, we're paying through all the taxes :winkwink:

I have never heard that before but I also only shower (don't even have a bathtub). From what I've just seen on the internet, it's suppose to help fertility (allegedly). Might be good to ask her next time you talk to her.

It's horrible :( You gradually get more upset each time you see AF. At least that's how it was for me. Then you start to hope for next time and then AF shows up again. It truely stinks:nope: I hope you don't have to experience it for yourself!

Here's hoping you get a BFP first time :dust: Thanks:flower:

I'm in the us with no ivf coverage either. It's tough trying to get all of the money together. But a little here and there is adding up, and we are doing a few different fundraisers. And the rest we are going to take out a loan for. Where are you located?

In Minnesota. I have my blood test Monday to see if we were successful. I just wish I would feel prego. Also I know the Ovidrel can cause you to have false positive pregnany tests. I bought some dollar store tests just to see how long it stayed in my system and was out 8 days later. I am still getting positive OPK tests. Anyone aware how long those stay positve?

Went in today for follicle study day 3 of my cycle. I have a cyst on my right ovary 17mm in size. We will not being doing IUI this month but told to try natural. Anyone have luck getting pregnant with a cyst?? Apparently they said it's a mature follicle. I am wondering then will I grow another follicle and have 2???

Aww so sorry mh82:flower: I had that happen for I think my 4th IUI so had to sit it out and wait til next cycle (although mine was more like 20 mm, plus had a smaller one around 10 mm but the clinic said they would've gone ahead if it had only been only that one). I know how much that stinks:nope:

Unfortunately I think cysts slightly reduce your pregnancy chances but I think I've read about some that got pregnant anyway. I don't think cysts contain eggs though and most are just fluid filled (a follie that didn't empty out the fluid after O). I know that I didn't get pregnant during that cycle:shrug:
