baby girl has just started having a bottle as her bedtime feed and im using TT CTN bottles as used these with my son and got on great with them while bfeeding too. Only problem is the teat seems to keep inverting on itself as she sucks and i have to take it out of her mouth while it re-shapes all the time! do you get what i mean?! its as though she sucks too hard!!!

i remember same thing happening with my son, is this meant to happen with these teats? anyone else had this problem?

You might need to move up a teat size as it sounds as though she needs a faster flow rate.

Just noticed your in gloucestershire, *waves* from the FoD

We're having the same problem! Although it's not every feed. But he tends to spit loads of milk out the sides too when feeding. I'm wondering if it's because of the teats, or if he's just a strong sucker/messy eater lol
I used Avent bottles with Luke, and can't remember having any problems with them at all....hmmmmmm....I'll be watching this thread to see if anyone else knows more!! xx

Either you need to go up a teat size, or the anti-colic vent is getting stuck shut.

When I used these bottles, I would always gently squeeze the sides of the vent (on the underside of the teat) before I sterilised them. This opens it up and allows the air to escape. If the vents get stuck shut, then the teat will collapse.

Yup - Eala's got it

When I wash up the bottles, give the valve a good valve a good squeeze to open its mouth wide..... that should do the trick!

just wanted to say thanks ladies, since following your advice on squeezing the anti-colic valve (didnt even know what this was...:S) and having it facing the top when i feed i have had no probs with the teat at all! thankyou! xxx
