Hi, This is my first post so I'm not yet familiar with the language. My husband and I have been trying for 6 months now. I've been using the app ovia for a month.
Just started taking my bbt 10 days ago. I believe I O about 3 days ago. My temp went up yesterday and today. My question is, when should I take a pregnancy test? When the temp dips a little?

If your temp is the highest it's ever been and remains elevated I would use the 3 over 6 rule. What that means if your next 3 temps remain higher than your previous 6 temps then it's safe to say you've ovulated. I would recommend using fertilty friend as a tracking app because it can figure out when you've ovulated and give you cross hairs. But as far as testing I would wait until 7dpo or later. How you can tell how many days you are depends on the dip before the spike. For example say your temp reads 98.1 then dips to 97.5 the spikes back up to say 98.2 and remains 98.2 or higher for the next 3 days then the day of the dip(97.5) would be ovulation day and 1 dpo is the day of the rise (98.2). Keep in mind I just threw out random temps to give you a visual. But back to testing. Don't be upset if you don't get a BFP on 7dpo. Most women average getting a BFP on 9 dpo and later. Some don't get a BFP until they're 2 weeks late. So to keep from disappointment I would wait until you're late to test but that's my opinion. I hope I have helped you. If I have confused you please PM me.
:)

Yes, use fertility friend. FF has the easiest to read charts. If I were you I would wait until 12-14 days past O just so you don't get your hopes up and give yourself anxiety.

Thank you 2ducks and Angel022605.

I've attached my chart from fertility friend. What are your thoughts on my chart? Should I test soon?

If your temps support ovulation then FF will give you cross hairs (the x and y axis). Once you get your cross hairs count 10 days from the day you ovulated.

I'd say you ovulated day 16. It's normally the day after an positive ovulation test but can be same day or the day after.
Your temp started a nice spike from day 17 onwards. Which if it continues shows you likely ovulated the day before the temp raise (again day 16). I think that really high first temp you entered on day 11 is throwing you off. I bet if you go In there and click 'disregard temp' you'll get your ovulation Crosshairs on fertility friend around CD16. Give it a go, if you need help let me know.

As for testing, the earliest you could expect to see anything would be 7 days past ovulation. More likely 10 days past ovulation. So probably test around 10th Feb at earliest but don't be disheartened , probably more like 13th would be more reasonable.
This is all just my opinion on you chart, I'm no expert! Fertility friend do a free charting Course which is shirt and fantastic for helping you read and understand charts.
Best of luck!

How much temp spike to expect. Does a difference of 0.8 degrees show that I ovulated?

Thank you for your help. Definitely will be testing soon :)

Rbaby- I think fertility friend says anything over 0.4degrees Fahrenheit (or 0.2 celcius) is known as a 'spike'. Are you in C or F? Either way, sounds like a spike
