Hi Everyone!
My husband & I are TTC baby #1. We are going to see a specialist the 30th of this month. We've been trying for a while now & because my periods are so irregular I think going to see a specialist is our best option. I have not been diagnosed with anything (as to why my periods are off) I've looked at endometriosis & don't have any of the symptoms really. Same with PCOS. Anyone else have irregular periods? What is the reason yours are? Praying that everything goes okay with testing & it's just been timing. Does anyone have any advice on medicine/questions I should ask about?

My cycles average 35 days (I thought it was bit longer than that before I started charting, actually), but since I started charting in October 2014 I've had 3 excessively long cycles (54, 59, and this one would have been 54 based on confirmed ovulation but I'm now late!), and I've also had 2 anovulatory cycles that ended in a slightly early AF. So far I don't have any answers about why either - I'm supposed to call the lab back to book my HSG whenever this AF comes, but it's not here! - but I've been suspecting PCOS for a while. My left ovary hurts almost constantly on the super long cycles once I've missed my usual O-day. My mother has endometriosis, but like you, I don't fit the bill. One thing I've noticed though is that I never get a stark white opk. There's always a visible line, even during my period, and with a 35-day cycle there's no reason to have LH going yet at CD1-8.

PCOS is the reason for my irregular cycles. I never would have guess I had it, but being on BCP for so long masked my PCOS symptoms.

If I were you I would want a full hormone profile as hormone imbalances can sometimes cause irregular cycles. Ask about any lifestyle changes you could make that may help you. It may be to early for an u/s or HSG but you could at least inquire.

Good luck!

I have extremely irregular periods and I don't have PCOS or endometriosis. I have been checked out for both. In Nov 2015 I started taking the natural supplement Vitex to help regulate my cycle and it totally worked! I used to have anywhere from 2 to 5 month cycles and the first cycle I started it, it shorted it to 57 days! Then it got progressively shorted until I got pregnant. Sadly I had an ectopic pregnancy and had to have it removed but my first full cycle after that has been the shortest ever, 30 days! I am still taking Vitex. It worked for me! Maybe ask your doctor about it!
