Hello ladies,
I haven't been on here in quite some time but so glad to be back! My son Dallas (30 weeker) is now a year old and doing very well, despite weight gain issues and reflux. Now that he's a year old. Dave(fiance) and I are FINALLY getting married this summer, We've been talking about ttc for baby #2. Possibly will start trying in a year or so, but with that we are also very cautious and anxious. Dallas almost lost his life when I was 18 weeks pregnant with him because I had IC (incompetent cervix) I finally found a doctor at 19 weeks who was willing to place a cerclage that saved my sons life. At 27 weeks my water broke, and I was in the hospital again til I delivered my son at 30 weeks. We talked to the doctors about future pregnancies, They all told us its 50/50 chance it could happen again but I would get a preventative cerclage placed and be monitored closely a second time around.
Recently I learned about a cerclage called TAC (Transadominal cerclage "stitch") that is placed before pregnancy or during. It's placed in the very top part of the cervix. It has a high success rate and has helped a lot of women carry to full-term without bedrest or complications. The more I read the anxiety I had about having another is fading. I know I will need to talk to my specialist and OB before decided or even getting my hopes up. Has anyone heard of this? Or had one placed? Success stories?
