TTC Cycle 3 after going off BCP

Hi,

I am on my 3rd cycle TTC #1. I went off BCP in April, had the normal withdrawal bleed, then cycle 1 was 30 days, cycle 2 was 44 days. AF after my 44 days was extremely heavy but only lasted 1 day! Should I be concerned about this? Anyone else experience a similar situation after going off BCP?

I am now on cycle 3 day 5, and would like to know if you have any advice on how to get pregnant. I am worried because I can’t rely on my period pattern to understand when my fertile days are. Do you recommend OPKs? Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi Andi! I'm in a similar situation - I went off BC in March, and we started "actively" trying in May. I would definitely try the ovulation kits - after being on the pill for so many years, I had no clue when/how long after the pill I would start to ovulate, and honestly I don't think I even ovulated until June. It can take a while for your body to completely regulate, and if I would have known that, I would have gone off the pill sooner. Anyways, get yourself some kits, and I swear by the red raspberry leaf tea. I don't know if it does anything for fertility (though many of the ladies here recommend it for that), but it really helps me with cramps. Good luck and baby dust!!
