Hmmm so I have a dilemma - hoping someone has advice or has been in a similar situation!!

Im looking for a new job and need a job pronto. Anyway I had an interview for a part time position and it went really well. But now I have the dilemma. Do I tell them I am going to be having an FET this month or not? The pregnancy isnt an issue its more the time off for appointments etc. Help! My brain is stuck haha!

If I were in your shoes I would not. I just wouldn't feel comfortable with someone knowing my personal business. I know its a new job and you want to be fair, but since it is a part time thing you may be able to schedule your appointments outside of work hours.

What is an FET? This is a new abbreviation to me.

Good luck and let us know what you decide to do!

2ducks: FET is Frozen Embryo Transfer where you have one of your frozen down embryos from an earlier IVF cycle put in, either during a natural cycle or while taking some medication.

K.N I can see you live in New Zealand and since I live in Denmark I have no idea what employers there consider ok or not when starting a new job. I do know in Denmark that it's an unsaid but well known rule that you don't get pregnant for at least 1 year after starting a new job. So doing an FET right when you're starting would probably be frowned upon here, also because of needing to take time off for appointments, but as I said I don't know what the New Zealand job market is like, maybe ask a union or something and see what the "rules" are for that.

I would let them know that you have an important doctors appointment that you cannot miss. If you don't know that day this happens, just tell them you'll only have a 24h notice. So in this case they are aware that you might miss a day from work. It's none if their business at this point to know about any TTC.

I personally would tell them, I did fet in October after starting a new job in June. I wouldn't bring it up during the hiring process but after your hired I don't see the problem.

Hmmm thanks for your help guys! Im just nervous because I am doing the fet this month so literally just as i get hired (if i get the job). I ended.up calling her back and just said i had some follow up appointments coming up and would she be willing to work around those. She offered me a job trial which is good. I cant decide if i should just not take the job and stick out my workplace till after ivf - and then if it successful stay at my place until maternity leave or if i should get a new job. So hard to decide what will be best!! Thanks for your suggestions though!! Much appreciated!
