Hi all,

So I went for my scan today which was arranged by my DR to see if my PCOS had flared up again.

OH and I have been TTC for 18months now and finally decided a few months back that it was time to seek medical help as I haven't hadn't had a period since January 2013. DR sent me for blood test which all came back normal but on my scan today it showed I have PCO cysts on my right and left ovaries and a 3cm Dermoid cyst on the right ovary.

I had a previous Dermoid cyst removed around 4 years ago as well as having to have my walls scraped as they also found I had endometriosis so I knew there was a chance I would have this problem again. I know it is common as is the PCOS which I was diagnosed with when I was 16 so I've been fully aware of all the complications that could arise when I finally wanted to TTC.

I have to say I'm extremely disappointed that this has come up again and it now means that I will need another minor op to remove this cyst to ensure it doesn't grow like the previous one did. Which is more waiting to do before the DRs will be able to assist medically which has really bummed me out!

I feel cross with myself that I didn't go back in January and maybe now we would be celebrating one step closer to our possible BFP instead of now having another waiting period ahead of us :0( hoping to find anyone else who is or has been in a similar position.....any advice would be great its been 18 months already TTC and coming up to 19 and I really cant see anything happening in the foreseeable future :0( xx

Don't lose hope. I was 18 years old, still an innocent little virgin when I found out I had cysts. They were so big that they had to remove one of my ovaries. Here I am maaaaaany years laters , married, ready to conceive, and nervous as hell. ESP since last month after having severe pains in the only ovary that remains, I was told the cysts have come back :(. We've really been trying to conceive but nothing has happened. Dr told me to get an ultrasound again to see what's going on with these cysts. Sooooo nervous. So please, don't lose hope. Just be patient, vigilant, and pray about it. I will keep you in mind, bc I know first hand that this is not easy, and is extremely discouraging and scary.

I had two dermoid cysts removed - 10cm and 5cm - about 1 year into TTC and also had to have adhesions removed as one of them burst and stuck everything together. I had the same feelings of being frustrated, set back and annoyed for not going to the doctor sooner.

But 1 year later, once my body had settled down, I conceived naturally. That was the longest year of my life but there is hope and my gorgeous little 9 month old boy is proof. I hope that helps and good luck x

Hi,

How are you Mrs H SCott? Just found this post and relieved as we have been TTC for a year and I had an ultrasound sat morning and the lady was so unhelpful but just said I had a big dermoid on my left ovary. She was quite rude wouldn't tell me anymore and said she didn't know if I'd be able to get pregnant. I've been reading horror stories about them turning into cancer and have scared myself silly this weekend. Hoping I can get some answers and act on it soon X
