My poor little one got a terrible Stomach virus it's been about a week now. She was both vomiting and pooping non stop. Although the vomiting stopped, the major diahrrea continues. It's 8 days exactly. She's normally a great sleeper. In bed at 7pm and up by 730am. She's almost 4 months old. However since she regained her appetite 2 days ago, she's started waking up at 3am for a feed and again at 6am! She drinks super fast and back to bed. She's starving. I know she's probably doing this to make up for all the feeds she lost and the weight but I'm just curious how long you think this will last? She hasn't been waking at night for a feed since about a month so this really really sucks. It's as though we just went backwards. I don't think it's regression bc she's literally starving and eats. With the bug she lost quit a bit of weight and was barely eating. So I'm glad her appetite is back but I'm just hoping this won't last too long :( currently she's having 2 extra bottles per day! Any advice?

It's really normal for them to sometimes drop night feeds around 2-3 months and then pick up again, irrespective of illness. I think there tends to be a spell, especially when bottle fed, when they sleep longer at night from 8/9/10 weeks for a bit, but then when they get more active and hit all the developmental spurts that come from 4 months onward, they just need to eat more and are also less settled at night as their brains are doing so much growing and developing. My daughter definitely started to sleep nearly all night (from a feed at 11pm) until 6am around 8 weeks, but then started to wake again maybe around 4 ish months. She continued with 2-3 feeds a night until 9 months when she dropped them on her own. That didn't mean she STTN for a long time yet, but it was a lot easier then. I would say that sounds very normal, and especially if she's need ill, so just roll with it and see what happens. It's great she's feeling better though.

Thanks! It lasted exactly 4 nights enough for her to regain what she had lost and she's back to Sttn 13 hours. I knew it was because she had been so Ill. Thank goodness xo
