Tummy cramps with pcos

Hey! Im new to this, so tell me if i go on to much I came off the microgyon pill after being on it for a year. Since my last withdrawal bleed i havent had my period! So decided to take a trip to the doctors, had a blood test with came back normal but had more than 12 tiny cysts on my ovaries. GREAT! anyway getting to the point, the doctor called me back,Told me i had pcos and put me on metoforim to help lose weight (btw im not to overweight) so my period wil come back, Ive been taking 500mg once a day and in the last two weeks been gettin period type cramps and lower back ache... Is this the medication or pcos or period?

I think it depends on the individual, I've had all these symptoms without a period coming, and have pcos and am on metformin

I have pcos and get regular cramping/aching in my left ovary, though dont ovulate naturally due to pcos.
