Hi,

I've just had my first proper ante-natal appointment with my diabetic team and they are going to let me try for a diabetic VBAC, provided that:

1) everything is as uncomplicated as possible;
2) I go into labour myself by 38 weeks
3) they don't feel the need to use anything other than purely physical means of inducing me, if I can't start labour by myself (so stretches & sweeps are all that's allowed)

Does anyone have any successful diabetic vbac stories to share? I'm hoping that I can get myself going when the time is right (ie before 38 weeks) so I will be trying every method in the book to induce labour, bring on the curries and the squatting! Lol. What worked for any other diabetic moms out there? Were your midwives happy to give you a stretch and sweep before 38 weeks or did you need to go into hospital to have it done? Were your doctors supportive in your choice to try for a vbac or did their opinions change?
