Why are they so so expensive in the summer

We really want to go away next month just to get away but everywhere is so so expensive!

I wonder how practical it would be to take a baby camping!?

Pointless rant really!

I think camping would be fun! Especially if there's somewhere with a lake, or places you can take Caitlyn on nice walks, etc!

It is very expensive. Devon and Cornwall are extortionate! Costs the same to go abroad.

I wanted to go to Devon cliffs holiday park and its like £700 for the cheapest caravan for a week! That's more expensive than Zara's week to wherever she's going in september (i forgot AGAIN) Mallorca? Abroad anyway

Have you thought of saving the money and booking at the last possible minute, usually come right down in price then as they just want the caravans filled?

I holiday in the UK every year and ive noticed the steep rise in prices. When we spoke to the park we go to they said it had gone up so much because people cant afford to go abroad so they are jumping on that fact.
Its a joke because what we've paid for next year has taken my mum and dad away for a week this year, all inclusive and somewhere hot.

P.S Was going to holiday in UK (credit crunch) but it worked out cheaper to go abroard.

Have you tried seaton sands in edinburgh? Gorgeous Beach and 20 mins from city centre! No idea about the prices though hun, I think I looked at it for July for 4 days and it was going to be about £300 xxx

Also look in to renting a cottage on the West coast of Scotland? I am sure it would be alot cheaper than £700 xxx

Have you tried going private instead of through the actual Haven/Butlins. It works out alot cheaper. And if you aren't too bothered about the year of the caravan, even cheaper.
Ebay do caravan holidays as well though I'm not sure how good they are.
If theres no luck with caravans there's always chalets? Some of them are quite cheap but you have to pay electicity on some of them so it's worth checking before.
