So I quite like Quinn for a boy. I think I've convinced OH to have it as we do not agree on boys names even though I've probably suggested around10!

Jasper is another strong possibility but one of our neighbours dogs name is jasper.

However, I have a quinny buzz pram!

Weird to call son Quinn yet have a quinny pram?

Hmmm I think some people would make the connection, particularly other mums that know pram makes and stuff, but equally I think a fair few wouldn't. No chance of changing the pram?

I'd still use it- he'll use his name a lot longer than he'll use his pram. Plus he's unlikely to be able to find his name on much personalised stuff (you know, mugs, pens etc) so at least this way he'll have something with his name on; I never used to find my name on anything so I'd have taken whatever I could get :haha:. If it bothered you you could maybe cover up where it says Quinny, like with the clip n part of a parasol, hang the changing bag so the strap covers part of it, something like that.

I wouldn't worry about it. He won't be in a buggy when he's at school, it's not like the connection will follow him around.

ETA - We don't have that brand here, but I was under the impression that quinny was a nickname for ladies' private parts? Every time I've seen the brand come up on the boards I've been like, "Whaaaat?". :haha:

My quinny is from DD so can't really afford a new one as it wasn't cheap :-/

I might try and remove the labels on the frame but good shout about not being in pram long and going school etc.

Not heard of quinny being nickname for private parts though? Is that a NZ thing?

No, I believe it is an old fashioned British thing. Obviously not something you hear much these days, but I've definitely read it. Never mind though, that was a total aside. :)

I totally agree about being in a pram for no time at all, really.

I'm from the UK and never heard that but just googled and it's true quinny was used for vagina in Elizabethan times. Not used in any way shape or form now so I wouldn't let that influence your decision.

Best not tell my OH as we'll not have a boys name at this rate.

i meant yeah do it, not yeah its weird, sorry :dohh:

I don't think it's weird at all. It'll only be used for a few years and I doubt many people will make the connection. Even if they did I don't think it's a terrible thing.

Our son is called Teddy and that's like saying he could never have a Teddy !!?? Although if I'm honest I don't tend to put him in clothes with Teddys on .

Good point! Plus my friend's little boy is names Thomas and she had the full on Thomas the tank clothes and toys purchased FOR HER when he was born which she decided politely to not dress him in.

Go for it! Does anyone remember what type of pram they had when they were little? An nobody is going to make fun of a baby or even put 2 + 2 together.
It's a lovely name by the way!

He he I can picture it. My close friend brought my son a teddy dress up which we put him in for comedy value and a few snaps but that was it.
I don't think a pram really counts x

Thank you x we've really struggled wth boys names and was exactly the same with my daughter

We don't have a Quinny buggy but we are using the name Quinn (Quinlan) I think. We have similar taste as I also liked Jasper and Casper but DH has said absolutely no to those. Quinlan is actually his first choice, lol!!

I also liked Cassius Gilbert and Frederick and I have a Sidney and a Vincent already, in case those give you any other ideas for names :)

I love soooo many names but DH vetoes nearly every one!

I prefer Jude tbh or Seth but they're both full on NO's.

Quinn is a cool name we both like so is Jasper - it's just there's a Jasper the dog in my cul de sac - three doors down from me to be exact and we are a friendly street where everyone talks to each other so kinda weird! Think the pram thing would be easier to pull off x

Ohh I like Seth and Jude as well. So hard when hubby doesn't agree isn't it!!!

I'd just block out or peel off the Quinny on the buggy if I had one I think. You can get custom stickers to put in instead too.

I'm ok on that front, as long as I don't call my baby Phil or Ted :haha: (or Babyjogger  )
