UK phonics help

Hi

So you probably have seen my last thread about tV and reception. I'm not very tech.

Does anyone have recommendations for learning phonics materials or apps.

I was looking for maybe an audio and book set on phonics and maybe a free app/ game on phonics to help her. I haven't a clue where to start.
Just to get her started, She has books but it's me that embarrassingly needs to get my head round the phonics sounds and something we can sit and do together. ( can't believe I've admitted that!) 😂

I wouldn't be embarrassed I didn't have a clue either! There is the jolly phonics app which is quite good. We have lots of phonics books and got them from the book people.

Someone recommended an app
called Teach My Monster To Read . It's got phonics etc on it .

I've just got it for DD1 and it seems really good .

It's supposed to be £5 but it's free until Saturday or Sunday

Do you have an apple or Android device? My DD has an app on her ipad that I absolutely love! We had a month free trial, and now I pay £1.49 a month. It teaches them that different letter combinations can make the same sound, and shows them examples in a word. Then once they've completed those sounds, they have short stories to read which include those sounds. It has voice software, and helps the child with any words they're unsure of. I'm still in bed atm, but once I'm up I'll check what it's called even if you just use the free trial to see if you get on with it

I've just bought my iphone so new to buying apps etc. I know, it's embarrassing! I'm such a technophobe trying to get with times. Thank you so much x

The app is called pocket phonics stories. They have a free 30 day trial, then you can choose to subscribe either monthly, yearly or a lifetime subscription

Rio's school is using jolly phonics. On YouTube there's some fun songs that they sing for the alphabet that include the phonics sounds. Rio has been watching it over and over (by choice btw lol) and he knows all of his letter sounds already.
I have bought some jolly phonics activity books too, they seem quite good.

Also the school send a link to a website called phonics play.

Orchard toys do a good word/letter board game too
I was terrible with phonics at first but taught myself before she started school.
