Well after 3 day's I'm finally home to type up my story for you all
I went to hospital Monday morning for regular checks on my blood pressure and protein, bp was up and protein was plus 3, the dr decided it was now time to get baby out. I had the sickness bug doing the rounds so wasn't pleased to hear it! I hadn't eaten for 3 days and wasn't feeling ready to labour a baby but I had no choice.
I went back at 4pm as they needed to get me a bed free, by 7pm I had the pessary put in and told they would check my cervix in 24 hours, so I put the tv on and waited, as I had the norovirus, I got my own room with my partner and we went to sleep, by 3am I was in pain and waking during contractions, the nurse come and checked my cervix, it was long and barely 1cm, I slept between contractions but some were coming 2 at a time and varying in intensity, by 5am I had been on the toilet 4 times and was screaming and crying and begging for them to remove the pessary and stop the pain so I could go home, I had had enough, there was no rest between pains and the pain was horrendous! The nurse come in at 8am and checked me I was 4cm so now I was classed as in labour, she called down to delivery to tell them I was coming down, she removed the pessary but I was in so much pain at this point I was exhausted.
We went straight down to delivery and after a few pains I thought I needed to go to toilet again so they got me a bed pan I sat on that but the pressure was my waters bulging, after being in delivery for 20 minutes I started needing to push, I pushed into the bedpan and lots of blood come out, suddenly the painful screams turned into intense push screams and they moved me onto my knees on the bed.
I pushed a few times and the bag of waters appeared, they could see them over the other side of the room lol, I pushed again and they burst everywhere! They had meconium in the waters, 3 more pushes and he was out!! He was in shock and needed oxygen so the midwife cut his cord and rushed him out of the room and suctioned his airways and gave him air and after 5 minutes he was fine.
I managed to do it all in 1 hour without tearing, stitches or pain relief, I'm rather proud of myself but I have to say after having 2 children without interference Benson was my most painful birth by far even if it was the quickest!
He was 7lb 10 and he's perfect and gorgeous and now we are finally home, I still am having pre eclampsia issues but hoping it resolves over the next few days, just grateful for my own bed!
