Uneven boobs! :(

Hello everyone, I'm new to the website, this is my first post! :happydance:

For various reasons, when my daughter was born, I couldn't breastfeed  I won't bore you all with the details because it's kind of depressing.

Anyway... From the various methods tried to do so, I have been left with one breast bigger than the other.

I've had them scanned and seen by a specialist, who tells me they are normal and the difference in size is down to the various breastfeeding attempts (which were unfortunately, all done with my right breast aka 'the bigger one') so the glands in that breast have stayed slightly bigger.

I'm not really asking a specific question or anything here... I just wanted to get it off my chest (no pun intended.)

I feel lopsided in low-cut tops; even if no one else notices, I can feel it.
I can see the difference in the mirror.
It's so hard to find comfortable bras because either the smaller one gets no support to compensate for the larger one; or the larger one is restricted for a more comfortable fit for the small one.

Spoke to my doctor several times about it; I'm on the pill now for various reasons, she doesn't think it will help with my uneven boobs; but that it will ease the pressure with the larger one etc. (because it does hurt sometimes.)

I asked if I had another baby, would they even out when the milk came through? She said they would providing I give the smaller one more stimulation than the larger one. (Don't worry, I'm not going to have another baby just to sort my boobs out!) We plan on having another baby when money is better anyway; so I'm just sort of hanging in (again, no pun intended) there until the time comes for #2, and hope that I can even them out again.

Thanks for reading!

I've always had uneven boobs- I think most women do. Maybe not that anyone else would notice? I do- as my left boob is always filling out the cup (and then some)- while the right barely fits, with a little wriggle room to boot! lol. I guess I'm just used to it- but again, it's not something small children would cry over or run away from :haha:

If the difference is enough that it's bothering you though- you could get an insert for the smaller one to put under the breast in your bra. That way, at least clothed, it wouldn't be noticeable... ? Then see how it goes when you do have anther baby in the future and try to even them out ;)

Just a thought! Welcome to BNB btw... hope you find it as helpful as I have :)

Thank you very much I appreciate your response. An insert is a great idea!

My boobs are a slight bit off but they are both so small that it is not noticeable when clothed. Unfortunately, when my milk came in they stayed uneven. When I was engorged, you could clearly see that they were uneven.

I've had uneven boobs since they started growing, my left is like a cm bigger than my right, My OH only just noticed this after almost six year, I think when it is your own body you are so quick to criticize ever tiny detail which people just do not pick up or notice!

I can join this club. For some reason I've always allowed my babies to nurse from my left boob more than my right boob and I've paid the price, haha. My right boob is smaller, and seems like it even shrunk (it looks smaller than my pre-pregnncy boobs, I think). It bothers me a bit, but I can't do anything about it so I guess there's no point in dwelling.

Thanks for the replies ladies! I appreciate you all understanding, it's comforting to know I'm not alone in this, makes me feel a little better about it. I always get so paranoid people will notice the necklines on my tops are slanted!

With boobs there is nothing normal or abnormal. There are many different shapes and sizes. Whatever you look like, be assured there are thousands of other women out there that look like you.

My right one is about 0.5-1 cup size bigger than the left. It also gets much more engorged, when I was first breastfeeding and they were all rock hard, it was HUGE...the other one was just big. It produces more milk and a harder let down.

It was always bigger, but BF'ing has made the difference more noticeable. I buy bras for the larger one, although currently (I'm pregnant again) my bras now fit the smaller one, and the right one spills out a bit if I'm not careful.

It makes it harder to shop for bras because it is hard to find one that looks right on both. However, since the support of the bra should come from the band underneath, having one cup slightly loose (on the smaller breast) should not make a huge difference in support. The straps should not provide most of the support in the bra, the band should, which shouldn't have so much impact, ie it should support any boob above it.

I get wrinkles in the cup on my smaller one, but I don't feel unsupported at all. A small enhancement insert would solve the wrinkling cup issue.

Thank you, you all made me feel a lot better about it. Guess I'll just have to learn to live with it eh :(

Sorry for the extremely delayed reply.
